Ok - I accept the theory. Its the timeframe that is important. How much time are we talking about ? I'm thinking 5 years. Thats a lot of stagnation and pain. During that time the standard of living in the US for the middle and lower classes will be declining. Our populist politicians are already blocking new free trade and will have even more power after the next election. Sounds like a recipe for the next depression.

How about this theory - Investors have piled into Treasury's because many other fixed income investments do not make good collateral any more. So using current yields as an indicator of inflation is an invalid concept.

Good collection of information - China is the key. As we slow China should slow - an actual recession there will cause the commodities to bust. The big question will be if China can somehow prevent a significant slowdown through domestic consumption, Lets hope 'decoupling' is a myth.
