      The Election's Impact on the Market
      If you raise taxes and pay off the National debt the dollar gets stronger which increases the buying power of the dollars you still have. It also reduces the amount of interest that needs to be paid on the debt.
      Bush raised taxes people by paying for the war on credit Obama wants to pay the bill. Or you can elect John McCain and keep on fighting a war in Iraq while Osama is in Pakistan laughing at us.
      I'm pro getting Osama and would support spending money to get him.
      War in Iraq well we won WW2 in less time than we have been in Iraq the place is a money pit lets walk away it will save us money.

      This is Crony Capitalism socialize the pain when the Cronies are connected. But notice the benefits if there are any will never be socialized.
      In a sense the middle class will bail out the rich. The only people who stand to lose a lot of money as a percentage of assets are those who did not have a diversified portfolio in the first place.
      The Social Darwinism of the Connected seems to be reverse Natural Selection those who make bad choices are protected from there mistakes by those who made good choices.
      How will such actions change our society?

      In order for the Fed to fix the problem Ben would need to look at everybody's books right now nobody trusts any numbers they hear on financial companies so the good and bad are getting hit.

      There is always the possibility of Hurricanes or another oil war affecting oil prices but barring that my only complaint is I wish you explained both the how and the why of your numbers better.

      You might be right but Sept is a bad month for the market so nobody will buy until after Sept, also you have a Presidential election where a Dem is expected to win but the big money guys are Republican.
      What do you want to bet the big money guys will be moving their money out of the country if Obama wins?
      Its only when the profits start that big money will come back to the market.
      So I suggest waiting until Sept to buy I'm hoping for more bad news so I can buy cheap.

      Critique of Dollar Policy
      The reason many rich people still support Bush on the economy and are not screaming about Bush destroying their net worth is
      1) because many of the rich are still comfortable
      2) Many of the rich have people to handle their money, people with a negative incentive to explain to the rich the real state of their money.
      3) Business TV does not inform viewers it encourages them to buy
      4) Some people don't manage their money they just look at an increase and think its good. They never consider inflation, or how other investments are doing compared to their investments. They never consider what they could buy today or yesterday with their money.

      Yep there will be tragedy because Bush has done nothing to catch Ossama and has instead wasted our time and money in Iraq!

      McCain hates debt? Ask him how he will pay for the war? What government programs will McCain cut to balance the budget Social Security the third rail of politics, Military funding what programs are big enough to cut in whole or in part to cover McCain's budget if he keeps the Iraq war going?

      Fisher's Silly Interest Rate Talk
      I agree interest rates will not go up until after the election but how much worse will the problem be by then? But unless we start paying down the National Debt higher interest rates won't be enough.

      Higher interest rates alone won't work we also need to start paying down the national debt or nobody will believe that we are serious about a stronger dollar.
      I don't expect the dollar to get stronger then until a new President passes a budget that starts to pay down the National Debt.
