Avery B. Goodman is a licensed attorney and the author of the action-packed Wall Street thriller "The Synod".
He holds a B.A. from Emory University, where he concentrated on history and economics. He also holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles Law School and is a member of the Bar, licensed to practice law in several jurisdictions.
Mr. Goodman serves on the roster of neutral arbitrators of the National Futures Association (NFA) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). His career has consisted not only of prosecuting cases on behalf of clients, but also in sitting in judgment on the cases involving others, and making important decisions on intra-industry and customer disputes involving securities issues.
As an independent investor, Mr. Goodman has observed that markets are subject to frighteningly high levels of disinformation. Investors desperately need a voice of logic, reason and common sense. For that reason, he is now sharing thoughts with the community.
I run a fund based on automated trading and technical analysis. But my favorite pastime is thinking and talking about political economy. I guess I'm George Soros.
Writing helps clarifying my thinking. All opinion expressed here is mine, wholly mine, nobody's but mine. And all trading/investment opinion I talk about here is related only to my personal accounts, not the fund.

I'm working as a consultant for the Chinese companies in their deals with Private Equity Firms.
I'm considered as a pattern day trader. I have been actively managing my personal portfolio since 2007. My trading strategies stemmed from my researches and my dissertations on Behavioral Finance as a Ph.D. student at Dept. of Economics at Rutgers. I believe in the EMH in the long run. However, the market tends to overreact due to its incompleteness and irrational participants.
My primary field of concentration was Financial Economics, with a secondary in Econometrics. I was qualified in Financial Economics at Princeton University through the Princeton-Rutgers Exchange Program. Prior to that, I was a bunker fuel oil broker in charge of the Great China regions and traveled extensively into the regions.
