Aristophanes, big up yourself! Thank you for decisively correcting this article's apparently uninformed author. It seems that people have a hard time understanding that the money supply can be expanded responsibly. And indeed, Aristophanes is correct that that Japanese officials are taking action to devalue their currency as it was rising much to fast against the Euro and USD. That trend has now reversed and there's every reason to be short then Yen in USD terms given that Japan's problems are much deeper than in the US, and that a weak (and weakening) Yen makes the Yen-carry trade much more attractive.
