  • Buy Orchid Island Capital For The 15% Yield Each Month And The Catch-Up Dividend Later This Year [View article]
The 30yr fixed rate loans Marion is talking about r agency MBS's... there r hardly any principle loss to speak off.. Only loss is in the form of loss interest payments as principles r returned due to early prepayments... if properly hedged and with that weighted average coupon, the portfolio should perform well in a rising interest rate environment... In my mind, given the ORC management there, any dip is a buying opportunity to accumulate to enjoy that juicy dividend for your old age.

  • The Ukraine Saves The Gold Market Again, But Can This Continue? [View article]
Thank God-Zeus for the Ukraine conflicts (terrible thing to say), it could have been much worse for both gold and silver last week. Wednesday's FOMC provided no clue to anything other than it going to stand ready to tame that invisible inflationary beast. Janet is not going to disappoint Ben. He already did all the work for the rich folks, now we r in the “trickles-down” phase. The writer of this article http://seekingalpha.co... claims, I quote: “own gold and silver coins and bars along with precious metal ETFs other than GLD and SLV. The gold price jumped more than $20 an ounce on Friday and ended the day with its biggest gain in nearly two months after word came from the Ukraine that the separatist movement in the East had entered a much more dangerous phase”… well, good for him! I wonder what he is going to do after that Bear Putin (Russian version of Ronald Reagan) beat the heck out of the West and take over the rest of them “states” bordering EU. I guess GLD should go up more, eh? China is also a wild card, not only their internal hoarding needs, but also when she invades Taiwan, Philippine, Malaysia & Japan…and takes all that GOLD from them all… do u really think US is going to do anything other than more sanctions on herself? India will continue to do her things buying gold as ways to have any savings… which is not a lot. So, I agree with the writer, buy GOLD (forget SLV) and sell $LNKD short. The chart seems to point in that direction as well.

  • LinkedIn: Speculative And Dangerous For Both Sides [View article]
The Argus Analyst Report reported the LNKD biz model will likely remain top-line for professional networking and pimping by demonstrating membership growth though slowing down. This probably was true back then, both domestic and internationally. It was also argued that LNKD caters to affluent, upwardly mobile professionals and the enterprises/recruiters who hire them. I beg to differ. LNKD probably attract more "crazies" than "normal" professionals now days. Not to mention there seem are many self-employed LNKD members (lots of ceo of something with 1-2 employee). As for international members, forget about it. They not only do not want to pay for the services, they tend to repel from the excessive negative aspect of the "Exceptional Americanism" of those American members who tend to wrap themselves in the flag. I think the only reasons they use it is for propaganda whatever they r selling (to the Americans), or learning English. In short, unless LNKD changes its user policy, the management and part of the biz model... it is not going to survive. The CEO Jeff Weiner does not seem to have a vision for the company.

  • Cisco Has A High Yield Which May Yield Even Higher [View article]
I think that china's distrust of CSCO, or anything america, just as we distrust their network products, especially after Ed Snowden's affair, will continue to drag on CSCO. By changing the management and make some kind of peace (like a JV) with China will help as well... Yes, i agree CSCO is not a buy for the short term, nor a worthwhile short either. CSCO does however have a juicy dividend, and given it seems just bouncing back and forth, this stock maybe good for a retirement account and maybe to earn some extra juice with covered calls.

LNKD is a sm website for pimps. No amount of revenue, number of new customers and solutions it can survive unless it changes its ways about using members’ private information, for pimps (headhunters), without knowledge of the members. LNKD is a disaster waiting to happen once a class action lawsuit slap against them… I can easily see $LNKD worth nothing. LNKD started out as a recruiting website. Now it has morphed into a beast attracting very aggressive people & potential employers, many of them are Premium members. They are pushing out the traditional professionals, who just want to hang out by the “Office Cooler”, and keep eyes open about potential alternative employments or get a job… Now, nutcases come on selling whatever their extreme, politically & religiously motivated views… and these r the “ceo’s”! No, I would short the stock and buy long-dated naked puts. We bought puts about 30 days ago. Yesterday confirmed our belief... $LNKD is going down and hard... additionally, how is $49 million pay package for the ceo is possible for a company has no integrity...zero and none?

To All Who r Thinking About BAC Dividends or Buybacks, forget about it. I predict the dividend increase will be at least 100% from $0.01. Remembering a friend of mine on WS told me once about a conversation between a Papa Bull and his Baby Bull when they saw a herd of cows on a hill... do u know the story? check it out. Then u will figure out what BAC will do as far as shareholder remuneration is concern. Therefore, buy long dated naked call options!!

Whoo-hoo, $BAC!! Sure was a hard fought road from $5.5 - not so long ago. WB was right: "be greedy when everyone is fearful." Brian Thomas Moynihan ought to be congratulated... that understated American bull dog.

  • Morgan Stanley to join institutional, brokerage muni desks [View news story]
It makes sense to me... the obj. of the clientele for muni's is really not all that much different btw institutional and retail. In fact, i believe more synergies will be created bc of it, in spite of the fact, some layoffs may occur sometimes down the road due to this. Hopefully the weakness of $MS yesterday is not due to this.

  • LinkedIn Penetrating China - A Trick Or Treat [View article]
Personally, i think it’s a mistake for LinkedIn to be "too Chinese"... China has her own job sites. One of the strength of LI is its America... the vision, future, power that she projects. It does not make sense for the Chinese to misunderstand LinkedIn as the 'ghost child' (unborn children become spirits) from America. That would be disaster for LI, if and when this takes hold. Moreover, the world is getting smaller and smaller everyday... The job markets go both ways. It will also benefit us if we can also view and apply their jobs. By the way, LinkedIn is not a website for job seekers and recruiters & I do not work nor compensated by LinkedIn, and I’m a perennial skeptic. Try it, I did. It is rewarding from the knowledge I have gained in the few months I troll the website. I am pleasantly surprised - not to mention i hooked up many friends i thought i lost.

  • A Look At The New BlackBerry/Ford Partnership [View article]
BBRY forever, a great born-again agnostic... love $BBRY and what it represents. TH didn't have one of the 7 P's for success, and had one of the D's for being termed by PW. One has to be almost anti-christ for not seeing the value of Blackberry's QNX when it was at its nadir during the past Thanksgiving - not investors fault if the ex-ceo couldn't communicate that.

  • 5 Reasons You Should Add Bank Of America To Your Portfolio [View article]
Achilles, do you have a theory (or a hypothesis or a hunch) as to why the recent weakness in BAC stock? "sometimes they go down" answer does not work for me. My wife is very long on BAC. I have a suspicion as to why and that it's temporary, but like to double-blind confirm with like-minded people. Freq recommendation of a stock is not necessarily a negative signal. It merely reflect the behavior that contributors finally come to realization that either they were wrong before or the future stock performance is becoming self-evident... make sense?
