Is the VIX Impervious to Technical Analysis? [view article]
I have been using the VIX as a buy/sell indicator for over a decade.It is effective as a buy/sell indicator in an oscilating market, providing an 80% reliability in its signal generation.
It is not effective in a strongly trending market.
To be effective as an indicator, the Trader must do some fairly sophisticated programming to take advantage of the signal features.
