Shareholders Left Hanging with BSR Delisting [View article]
why does SEC allow these companies to delist without real notice? And what are the reasons for a de- listing? In NYSE it is due to some size - what about ETFs?

I am 62; (now relatively "old" ) When the Savings and loan problem hit the TV we saw Old people paraded across the screens much like these Madoff people....they all sought high returns - much higher than even corp AAA bonds were paying. They must have instinctively knew (or actually knew) that the higher the return the higher the risk - yet now they are whining. I've lost quite a bit in just regular investments. These people should not be bailed out for 100 %; as of this writing the S&P is down 40.2% (an amount they would be down if they were in an index fund this year.) The maximum they should get is whatever they could have earned on an index over the time they were in, minus some penalty so that others in the future will not view all these bailouts as a floor on their investments (IF EVEN THAT MUCH)
Where was she in the past on Madoff; like all these dems (Arthur Levitt, past SEC chairman and one who could have looked at Madoff, et all) prior regulators who had the option of investigating one of their own. And what about that wonderful guy, Elliot Spitzer. Its a wonderful world when the contributors to our problems can blame the last guy in.
Biggest problem I see is Pancreatic cancer - the last time Apple had and "outside" CEO their stock was dismal....cannot put a bean counter in charge of Apple . Have not heard of any meaningful and inspiring succession plan. Life can be fatal - but Pancreatic cancer generally is fatal sooner. I'm concerned.

Wish the Fed had some way to influence the Farm subsidies. This ethanol debacle is killing the food prices...in fact, lets not ever have an Iowa caucus. Also, liberals, quit whining about the buffalo and go for the oil/gas shale in the Dakotas. Or better yet, build some new coal fired generation plants and nuclear reactors . Energy and food prices should moderate once we get these socialist "greenies" out of the mainstream.
