How big will Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl be?
With Super Smash Bros Brawl (SSBB) being release din the US i tought i might update my above comment to further correct the misguided, uninformed rantings in the above article.

      press.nintendo.com/art...

SSBB has sold more than 1.4million copies in its first week of release in the US. It has now sold more than 3 million copies worldwide (and is not yet released in the rest of the world outside japan).

I think it is safe to say that it will be in the top 5 selling software of 2008.

      Odd article.

Super Mario Galaxy may be No. 30 in the UK but it was No. 5 in the US according to the NPD (for all of 2007) and at this time it has sold about 6 million copies worldwide - you don't get more gamer than that.

There may be more HD consoles, but not a lot more. PS3 and XBOX360 have sold about 27million combined compared to about 22 million for the Wii - an 18% difference - and closing.

Im not quite sure why it is a bad thing that SSMB has sold more than Wii Fit in less time. And while GTA IV may end up selling more, unless you have access to information i do not, it is unlikely to sell 'several' times more. At a minimum SSMB is likely to move 6 million units.
