Chambers Is Right: The Recession Will Drive Tech Innovation
If it's not obvious now it soon will be, managing a large, rapidly growing, heterogeneous, dynamic IT infrastructure is not possible. Period. Cisco has spent decades and millions trying to build intelligent network management, putting more "intelligence&quo... into the network, yada, yada, yada. It won't work. Ever. This is why Cloud Computing will emerge as the only cost effective solution for what the marketing folks are calling "Infrastructure 2.0".

I've had the EXACT same experience as @htc_user. Great reception in the EU (Denmark and Amsterdam) with an HTC phone. I'll retry this experiment next month in Italy.

The Coming Cloud Computing Dogfight: Google vs. Microsoft
This misinformed article proves the gross misunderstanding of Cloud Computing at this stage of it's development! The battle is not goog vs msft it's goog vs amazon. msft is well behind (once again) while goog has missed the boat in terms of understanding what cloud developers really want and need. My bet is on Amazon to walk away with this one until the likes of IBM and HP enter the market with more polished versions of the cloud.

      Cisco: Internet Traffic to Boom
The problem with this forecast is the big ISPs are doing everything in their power to keep that explosion from happening. Data Shaping, throttling of P2P traffic, high usage tiered billing are all going to kill this. Cisco is wishful thinking since they would be the main beneficiary of this kind of growth.

'Index Speculators' Responsible For Commodity Prices?
What if - you did the math? Close the CFTC loopholes that have undermined speculator position limits and then let's see what happens. Since the futures market operated just fine before these loopholes were opened there should be no problem closing them again, right? Let's test the theory with a low risk move. Couldn't hurt right?
