  • My Income Portfolio Quarterly Update (Q1 2014) [View article]
Yeah, I have a similar approach. I never want to limit my total positions to an arbitrary number of stocks.

I intend to pass along my portfolios and want a large array of stocks. Yes it is true that some may fail, and they will be dealt with, but that is part of the journey.

I look at the stocks as a collection of income, and future income producing "plants" in a wide form, like small potted plants for small caps, bushes,shrubs,saplings... trees etc.

If I have positions that need to be reduced due to poor performance, then I will still most likely keep around 10%. I will do this because of the chance that there is recovery, I still have part of the plant to regrow.

  • Dividend Growth Investing: An Introduction To Creating Wealth [View article]
Yes, as investor's we need to have an investigative approach towards the evaluation of companies.

Understand the need to see the subterfuge, and move past it.

Always ask yourself: "Where is the money" "Where does it go"

You need to interrogate the company.

Play Good Cop, Bad Cop with their financial statements and information.

"Oh Mr. Company X, I see that you missed your last quarter estimate by 3%, and you decided to shift your focus into expanding into a shrinking market?"

"Is this the best use of capital?"

People can never get complacent, always ask the hard questions.

It is your money after all you are putting up to invest with. Let it be within organizations you can truly say you understand.

  • Sigma Labs: Filling In The Cracks Of 3-D Printing [View article]
Exactly, they are a key piece within the further modernization of the production process. They have the technology to assist with companies existing products, allow for the development and implementation of new designs.

Where one products works, they can help make it better, faster stronger cheaper. The super-alloys like Cobalt Chromium are a boon to many industries.

Sigma Labs Inc. is a key piece of this puzzle. They have a product that can provide a need for a number of businesses where many of them are not even aware of the aid they can offer.

The people involved have helped nurture this industry for a long time:

"Los Alamos National Laboratory was one of the original architects of forming articles from materials in particulate form in which the materials are melted by a laser beam and deposited at points along a tool path to form an article of the desired shape and dimensions. This work stems back to the early 1990's when collaborators from the Metallurgy Group (MST-6) within the Materials Science & Technology (MST) Division began demonstrating the technology necessary to perform 3D printing of metal objects. My colleague and co-founder of Sigma Labs, Dr. Vivek Davé and I worked in the Metallurgy Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory beginning in the late 1990's and directly with the co-inventors of the 3D metal printing technology which became the precursor of today's 3D metal printing." - Mark Cola

I see a definite future here with Sigma Labs (OTCQB:SGLB) and cannot wait to see where they go next.
