Boy, do I ever agree with what most are saying about Ebay management...they really haven't a clue. They just know they want to be like Amazon because they're salivating over Amazon's 41 percent increase in revenue this past quarter! They have dreams of all Amazon's buyers magically tripping over to Ebay. What a joke! So, like little children they're convinced they want to be just like that....and how are they going to do it? Heck, not by sacrificing any of their revenue..they'll just beat it out of their sellers. give them rigid rules and requirements - give them "decreases" in fees - heck any more of those famous "decreases" and Ebay won't have a seller left...except maybe buy.com! Ebay will never offer good customer service, they'll never show either buyer or seller any kind of respect...they've had everything their way for far too long....everything will be "show me the money." Ebay sells nothing so they won't be offering free shipping...just beat it all out of the sellers and tie free shipping into their standing in the listings. Give buyers those shiny stars to play with so they have power over sellers - that ought to make them feel good!
Yes, in a couple of weeks the site will be innundated with junk up to the rafters as everybody and anybody starts listing whatever they can find or drop ship or order from China.....exactly what Meg Whitman feared when stores where put in search only this will be 10 times worse. Typical of Ebay to destroy yet another holiday season for long time sellers.
So, I agree, present management hasn't a clue and I don't see that changing any time soon. Its a good time for everyone to be testing out other sites. I know they're not selling but if sellers started listing and started getting their buyers to try new places...who knows. We may break the old Ebay habit before Ebay breaks us!
