  • eBay: Where's Oprah When You Need Her? [View article]
    Very good article!

And Tippie, ebay should have dealt with the seller on your deal... Instead, the gave you that warm fuzzy feeling by paying shipping, made you happy, and kept their crappy seller because they make too much money off of them to do anything...

Their new rules have nothing to do with "customer service", it has everything to do with "ebay greed"...

All this new feedback system will do for you my friend, is push away the good, honest seller... That system sets even the most perfect of sellers up for every cyber criminal on the net...

Oh, by the way, did ebay send you a coupon for filing a complaint???

  • Not Seeing a 'Better & Safer' eBay  [View article]
Stock may appear to be rising, but don't hold your breath for it to last...

And ebay safer for the buyer and the seller... (((lol))) now I've heard it all...

I've never seen such a mess in the whole life time of ebay... I've never seen so many people damaged and small business' destroyed in a blink of an eye as I have on ebay this last couple months...

Wasn't it nice of them to put the digital sellers out of business with no notification what so ever, just pull their listings and have them wake up to an empty store? Not only to just take down the listings, but to delete them so that the hundreds of hours which they spent creating them was down the tube!! Now that's sure a safe venue to deal with don't ya think??

Makes me sick to think of the damage they've done to these people...

Padded listings, unequal selling ground, no genuine feedback, paypal holds, the new star system, the censorship, and it continues...

Yup, the blogger they hired has a tough job... I'd be embarrassed to defend the company... Couldn't pay me enough to sell my sould to the devil...

Whaoooo, Scot sounds like an ebay store owner or stock holder who is getting worried about the boycott... There are a few protesters who are continually on the boards in defence of ebays tactics, but facts are facts... And as hard as it is to see them, they need to be shown and investigated.. I think if I were an ebay supporter, I'd be embarrassed too...

I'd also be discouraged... The sellers have had it with this site and they are flocking to other sites to build their stores and auction listings back up... When sellers leave, you lose a huge population of buyers because the sellers are the one's who are the most faithful to the venue they sell on...

I used to spend abut 1000 dollars a month on ebay... But that was before the boycott... Now I wouldn't spend a dime on there... I am only one of thousands of boycotters who feel the same way... The sellers who are left there are feeling the sting of an empty mall and they're paying through the nose for it plus allowing ebay to set them up for failure with the new deceiptful star rating system they have implemented...

It amazes me that people will continue to allow this company to steal money from them, use them for a padded bank account, and still come out loving them... It's almost like the abused child syndrome...

Keep up the good work Dinah and I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU HAVE A WEBSITE!! You have a wonderful way with words which are easy to understand and to the point...

Wow, this is the best and most accurate article I've read conserning ebay!! Bravo!!

And the only think I could see that could be added to is that the 21 day hold on the sellers monies at the whim of paypal can be extended to whatever ammount of time that paypal deems fit... So the 21 day is just a window, but they did add the clause that they could extend that period...

Thankyou for showing the bare facts :)

I wouldn't be encouraging anyone to list on ebay!! It's expensive to list and the only one gaurenteed to make a dime on that site is ebay themselves... There are so many other sites who treat their customers with respect and actually give "real customer service", other than the canned responces you will get from ebay...

  • How Donahoe Broke eBay [View article]
They have implemented the new search system that "best searches" for you, which leave out merchandise in their search engine which may be a better deal for the customer and leaves the small seller out to dry...

They set the seller up to fail with a sytem that rates on a star system...

Say they're lowering fees but it turns out in the fine print that the fees are actually being raised 67% for the majority of sellers.

Take away the ability to let other sellers know when there's a buyer who will rip them off...

Gives the buyer 20 times to steal from sellers on ebay before getting removed from the buyer experience!!

Take away the ability to screen for shill bidding on the buyers behalf, setting them up for bad competition.

Make a search engine that only shows a percentage of auctions on your dishonest star system.

Force the use of paypal which is co owned by ebay and then hold payments from sellers for 21 days ; expecting them to ship merchandise that they may never be paid for!!

And now you offer to pay people to their friends to shop on your overpriced monopoly website????

    OMGoodness!!

I'm running from that site as quickly as I can!!

  • eBay Management and Sellers Need Relationship Advice [View article]
Ebay has taken a down turn in their cycle of fair trade on e-commerce... Setting the average seller up for failure, even their powersellers, is not my idea of creating growth for any company facing recession...

Calling your sellers "other than honest", is not, in my opinion, the way to build a strong platform for sellers to want to participate in, especially since there are so many more outlets that can be utilized on the net...

Ebay has sabatoged their own market place by setting unrealistic goals for their sellers to possibly see a decrease in their ending fees...

They have used terminology that isn't compatable with the dictionary and which is deceiving to say the least...

They are using a scoring system which is an out and out lie and completely contradictory depending on whom the person is that is using it...

If a buyer is using the star system, which goes from 1 star to 5 stars, he is told that a 1 is low and a 5 is the highest... So a 4 is above average... So in rating a seller at a 4, the buyer is saying that he had a great experience with the seller...

When it comes to the seller, and the discount at the end of the sale, he is rated according to the star system... The only way to get the discount is to have an overall rating of 4.5 or higher... When your shipment score goes below 4.5, then the buyer is warned in RED LETTERS that the seller has a slower than average shipping record... Ebay then suggests that you look at other sellers items before making this purchase with the seller...

Now, we've already learned when scoring a seller that a 4 is above average and then later learn that they lied to the buyer??!!

They have taken the word "neutral" and changed the meaning to mean "negative" because it's not "positive"... What's with that??? How can this be legal???

Personally, I have been lied to enough by ebay to look at other sites and to pull all of my merchandise from their site... I have paid them plenty through the years and leave them with my 100% positive feedback rating and will not allow them to damage my reputation as a seller just so that they can gouge me in the end with their deceptive practises...

This marriage is over and at this point can not be reconciled... The trust is gone...
