Investing in Natural Gas: It's Time [View article]
Going long nat gas does make sense, but only once you see it's chart make a solid uptick on respectable volume, in my humble opinion. Who know's when that will be? Not me!
Taking the macro view, and understanding this may sound conspiracy-theorist, don't forget at the time all this was happening we were at war and spending money we didn't have. But is it not possible the administration at the time could have influenced the Fed to keep quiet? We were unilaterally in Iraq and Afghanistan, could not get foreign financial support due to objections to how we entered into it. What other options did we have other than inflate the American consumer/home equity bubble? Many things happen in Washington which never leak out, who knows?

Whew! All the technical analysis has it's place and is a large part of this current uptrend, for sure. It only adds to my feeling of insecurity pertaining to market sentiment though. One small and often overlooked factoid is the increase in actual bank deposits from likewise insecure American consumers. Your story on CMED is one I can vouch for. I got interested in the company in early 2006, researched diligently, and was wowed by the possibilities. However, my patience ran out on the company. There was no real reason for my selling other than my listening to pundits and my losing patience. It provides me with a valuable lesson on believe in thyself and be patient.!
