Serious Drama, And Lots Of Stupidity, Behind Stage6 Shutdown
Better if they start up a new site using On2 Technologies Vp7 like so many others are doing! (Or contact On2 about Vp8 which is about to be released in China any day now - Hummm???) To quote Papa John (with a twist), "Better codec, better video!"
DivX is over! Everything is moving to On2/Hantro's Full Screen HD1080P streaming at low bit rates. No boxes to buy! No downloading! No waiting (buffering)! Fast forward, reverse, jump like any box without the box!
Streaming movies! Streaming "Live"! Streaming TV! Full Internet connect!
Now hear this! Starting this year your cell phone will be your computer. Your laptop and desktop will become it's slaves. When you come home you'll just drop your cell phone into a holder and your phone will update all other devices.
All phones will have unlimited access to the web and to data and live TV at one monthly fee. TV channels around the world will be accessible over the Internet in Digital and 1080P HD. You will watch "Live" TV or any movie from anywhere at anytime. Pay per View will still be there at an additional charge for those movies, sports, etc. that can warrant it.
The new chips being installed now into your next cell phone, designed by On2/Hantro, will allow you to be on the "real" Internet and watch any video, including Flash, any time! Not like that very limited product, the IPhone, from Apple. These new phones are on the way. For starters check out the just released Nokia N96! That's just a start with lots more to come.
If you are holding DivX shares you might want to unload them and pick up some On2 Technologies (ONT) while it is still hovering around a $1.00.
