  • Should King's Sour Candy Be Crushing Shares Of Glu? [View article]
Until the short squeeze on the earnings, if they are good. If not, it could well sink further, regardless of the tech correction. Emotions will drive this one.

Anyways, there is too much good coming up for GLUU, all pointers are pointing north. Whether it's this year or in 5 years
-GluOn's efficiency, ability to make money on their games, and extend it to 'co-developed' games
-Scalability of games and readiness for Apple TV, Android TV : they could be the first. Besides, Deer Hunter/Contract Killer on TV ? hell yeah! By the way, it's already developed for Amazon Fire TV and released in February. A new big market is opening, and they have very small cost to adapt to it.
-Successful franchise games, w/ frequent updates (reminds me of EA) - not a one hit wonder. One massive hit could skyrocket the company, but even without the growth is steady
-Google Glasses - I'm a bit relunctant to see this as a big thing as I'm not sure what they are doing with this tbh. I've seen example of shooters games being developed, I assume they are doing one as well
-Acknowledgment of the company: chosen for Robocop, now for James Bond next year. I've never been a big fan of movie-games but it shows they are getting attention and trust.
-Ability to localize in 20 languages, growth on the asian market, a big one for mobile gaming, and the most growing market by far.

For a company which was not profitable in the past couple of years, the changes are eloquent. It may sink and post a few bad quarters, and people that timed it right will make more money than me (did not see the tech stock correction coming and got caught in). If the company stays profitable in such a growing market, where so many are loosing money, then it has a bright future. Remember, at today's valuation we are talking about a 300M market cap, for a profitable company with access to worldwide users. Let them be profitable a few more quarters!

  • Should King's Sour Candy Be Crushing Shares Of Glu? [View article]
@schroederltd : my understanding is that with the recent drop in small caps and mobile gaming stock, there is a general 'lower' expectation thus lower P/E for this market. I'm afraid that even if they beat the guidance, the stock will not climb much higher than 4.50$. I hope I'm wrong there!

24927873: Where do you have these numbers from? These are interesting values to consider, would love to have an idea of the grossing per rank per store/per country, but I guess for that kind of data you need to pay a lot.

  • Should King's Sour Candy Be Crushing Shares Of Glu? [View article]
Don't expect an answer from someone who 'does not know how Glu makes money', that's the basic short comment there.
DH14 is resilient, FC2 successful, EW3 a big hit in Asia. GluOn platform monetization (read Osbourne's article from last year) and low development cost are kicking in. I do hope for a good quarter, and feel frustrated that GLUU is getting beaten up so. Hope for a nice short squeeze when the results are in.

  • GLU Mobile Will Beat Guidance Based On App Store Data [View article]
Same remark as another member, the focus on the US flaws the research I fear, but nonetheless very interesting, thank you for that. EW3's success in Asia is key for this quarter. I spent a lot of time on App Annie myself, without paying. I haven't looked yet at how clear data you can get if you do pay.

@Bartleby: What supports the 2.00$? KING has top 10 games in U.S, yes. And it is clearly in their current valuation. GLUU : 380M$, KING 6,2B$. That's 16x times more already.

  • Avoid King's IPO And Buy Glu Mobile [View article]
@joecd : do you really need to create an account for that ? ;-) and what kind of logic is that? KING went down 10% on its IPO, GLU 5%, so it must means GLU investors are panicking... ? it's just a collateral

  • Avoid King's IPO And Buy Glu Mobile [View article]
@Long GLUU : KING's PE is fair yes, but they have their revenue from one hit app that is 1st downloaded/grossing app in the world... will they continuously deliver this? that's what investors must ask themselves with this one.

I will actually buy some more GLU today, because I feel it's really been unreasonably going down lately, and I'm pissed I added some more at 5,40 levels ;)

  • Avoid King's IPO And Buy Glu Mobile [View article]
More balanced indeed, I was afraid of a loss in interest in DH14 after last quarter blew out the expectations.. but not only is DH14 continuously performing this quarter as well, even more lately due to new content, but other games have kicked in this year and have been very successful. Eternity Warriors being the most successful of them in Asia.

Very much looking forward to the next earnings call, I am long GLUU

  • 4 Solid Reasons Why Glu Mobile Is An Excellent Long-Term Buy [View article]
I also looked at the data coming from App Annie quite a lot and while DH14 has slightly lower rank in terms of grossing for Jan-Mar than it had for Oct-December, it is still a very successful app. What makes me very confident is the big success next to that of EW3 in South Korea and China, two very big markets when it comes to app grossing. And that started in January.

You would need to look at all games and all countries to have a proper idea of course, but that's a task I do not have time for in the next few days.. If there is a rainy weekend, maybe ;-) But focusing on these few hits and the other RoboCop, Motocross Meltdown, Frontline Commando 2, next earnings should will be far above guidance. Looking forward to the call!

Well done Houdinie, I did not see that dip coming and bought at 5.40 then 5.15, too bad for me. I'm not worried on near-term or long-term, just feel that I could have been more lucky ;)

  • 4 Solid Reasons Why Glu Mobile Is An Excellent Long-Term Buy [View article]
    Thanks for the article Ayush.

I'm not sure how I feel regarding Zacks and what their rating means, not a few days before the earnings they were rating Glu a Sell... Earnings exploded expectations, +30% on the next day, and suddenly it's a Buy from Zacks..besides their article smells the bot more than anything else, I would not take them seriously after this.

In any case I am also long (and strong) Glu, the past few days have been tough as I bought on the top of the wave, but I'm looking forward for the earning's call end of April. Had I not such a big stake I would now invest in the current dip-

I also started playing Pirates of the Eversea this weekend to educate myself as I have never played any mobile game so far. I do believe they should enhance and go stronger with the all 'player interactions', they seem to go in the right direction. I have installed EW3 and DH14 too, now.

They produce many good games, this alone should sustain the growth. What I'm hoping for is that one of them becomes a big hit for the mainstream users, like Candy Crush (my girlfriend's Mom is playing at this, that to me is proof that it is extremely popular). On that topic, you could have compared Glu's 400M market cap to the expected 7 billions by KING's IPO, the creators of Candy Crush saga.

Key word is patience. And hoping the Nasdaq does not crash while we're waiting. ;)

  • Glu Mobile Is A Potentially Lucrative Acquisition Target [View article]
Lots of small cap stocks seems to be taken a hard hit since thursday...they are the first one to be dropped when fear of a crisis is looming.
I unfortunately was too eager to double my Glu position at 5.30 or so.. should have waited couple more days... :)
