The Visa IPO: Taking a Wait and See Approach

i agree with Vegasjoe. i am 18 and bought about 1200 dollars worth at 59.5 and i think by the end of the year this stock will hav a fair value of $80. with VERY little risk and a lot of upside earnings growth and the possibility that down the road visa europe will join the company there is too much upside to be had not to get in now

What's Yahoo's Game Plan?

yahoo is an idiot. they cannot just dismiss the offer and pretend it will go away. they need a viable alternative. which btw they do not have. if msft cannot oust the board they should retract their offer and watch the board squirm. then they will see distractions. can you say hundreds of class action lawsuits. msft can get yahoo for 28/share

Is Ford Close to Resuming Profitability?

i am a ford investor and i believe they are a great company. they were however misguided for many years bu the ford family. i believe that ford will be profitable within a year. they are competitive in all segments except for hybrid cars (which i hope will change soon). and there is no reason they shouldnt be profitable after the UAW concessions. i cant wait for the return on this investment

Wells Fargo (WFC) will become the largest U.S. bank by branches with its bid for Wachovia (WB), after Citigroup (C) withdrew from compromise negotiations late yesterday on concerns about the quality of some of Wachovia's assets. Wells Fargo, with a bid valued at $11.4B, expects the purchase to be completed by the end of the year, and denies it will have to absorb assets shakier than originally thought. Government considers next steps. As the financial crisis continues to worsen, the U.S. government is considering two dramatic steps to turn around, or at least slow, the damage: guaranteeing billions of dollars in bank debt and temporarily insuring all U.S. bank deposits. The moves, which would mark the government's most extensive intervention to date, are in discussion stages only. Credit stays frozen. As frozen credit markets refuse to thaw, the cost of default protection on corporate bonds reaches new global records amid investor concerns the credit crisis will trigger corporate failures as companies struggle to finance their businesses. Interbank lending remains limited, and borrowing from the Fed's expanded discount window continued its trend of setting new highs every week, as the total daily average rose to $420.2B vs. $367.8B last week. Computer Sciences (CSC) -- This is a company that was going to be bought, but they passed up the chance. Now I don't want to buy it."
