P.S. Delia was an $11 stock less than two years ago, and traded today at $3.05, so you tell me if there's no upside left.

What is with all the rude, irrational criticism here? Mr. Tilson posts what I consider a straightforward and informative summary of his recent investments as a professional investor and a couple idiots jump on him as if he's a penny stock operator operating out of a boiler room?!? If you actually took the time to read his post, you'd see Tilson sees much continued upside potential here. Not sure why you Yahoo types even come here, but your rudeness is astounding. Get lost.

  • The Real Reasons Fertilizer Stocks Are In the Dirt [View article]
manusceo is spot on--this is an institutional and hedge fund liquidation sale. You have to be a damn fool not to see MOS as a steal at these prices IMO, especially if you have an investment window of 1-2 years or longer.

  • The Only Thing In Common Is The Decline: GGP, MOS and HIG [View article]
MOS still has incredible earnings and margins and is very cheap going forward. This is hedge fund redemption/dumping to the nth degree. Very strong buy here--something tells me people still need to grow food, no matter a global slowdown.

Nice job by Sprint in running a formerly good business (NXTL) into the ground! Tools. Let's hope a more competent company buys it and turns it around.

The real question IMO is why gold isn't surging given the global nature of this crises.

  • Coal Prices Set to Go Up [View article]
Idiotic to posit that Obama will shut down coal plants, especially in the middle of a financial crises with energy prices still way too high for most folks. I'm assuming Slo Burn is a McCain supporter--take your crank political opinions elsewhere unless you can document some evidence to back them; otherwise they're completely irrelevant and only expose your ignorance.

  • Chinese Market Annihilated - Cramer's Lightning Round (9/24/08) [View article]
His call on China's demise seems more than a bit overdone. Good contrarian signal that we may be close to a bottom there? After all, Shanghai's down something like 66% from its highs. Worth watching here IMO.

  • Gold Bull Market Trend Forecast  [View article]
I'd argue that good technical analysis combined with market savvy trumps funnymentals any day. One savvy trader I follow called this recent gold rally within a day or two before it happened after watching the charts closely for the past month, looking for and expecting a final washout capitulation. He was dead on, and expects gold to be the strongest market sector going forward the next several months.

But it's also smart to go to Kitco and see what the big boys are doing. From what I read there, they've gone from net short to net long gold over the past month.

  • Energy Storage Opportunities After the Market Carnage [View article]
C'mon, guy, huge R&D dollars are going into large cell lithium cells at a manic pace by some very well-funded large companies: LG, Sanyo, Hitachi, Panasonic, Continental, Saft, to name just a few. And Continental just announced their lithium HEV pack is ready NOW and will be used very shortly in the new Mercedes hybrid sedan. Bob Lutz claims the very powerful lithium batteries (LGChem and A123) GM is testing for the Volt have been performing "flawlessly" to date and will provide 40 miles all-electric range.

So the batteries are here, and now it's just a matter of getting production up and prices down. Given the huge global demand for ultra fuel efficient vehicles, I don't see how this CAN'T happen. And the lithium shortage scenario is a canard. Lithium is one of the most abundant elements on the planet, and market forces will fill future demand.
