  • Research In Motion Not Likely to Spend $1.2B on Share Repurchase Program [View article]
Yes smartphones will be growth as wealth grows over ASIA, LatAM.
But people buying smartphones won't buy one for Push email which is RIMMs bread and butter.

They are used to SMS. Push emails are useful for Managers, CEO, CFO. But for consumers. SMS is enough.
    I still don't see a paradigm shift.

In Europe which is GSM. SMS still out paces email push.

smartphones will offer services such as mobile internet, search, location/navigation(GPS), social networking.
In other words more than just push email.

Recently RIMM acquired a software company making a mobile web browser. I think they have realized their weakness.

GS is a trader masquerading as a bank...

The FEDs should have never allowed GS to convert into a bank....
    Arrogance is the word...

    GS is not a bank
its not lending money to businesses
But it gets cheap funds from the Federal Reserve and use it to BUY commodities and stocks.

    They are trading.

My take on RIMM is on the global mobile industry.
RIMM is strong in the US and CANADA.
    not much anywhere else.

RIMMs bread and butter is email delivery.
Yes they are secure, yes the US president uses it made even more secure.

In most parts of the word. its SMS (short messaging system)that rules. Which USA took a very long time to embrace albeit understand.

Would you think ASIANs and EUROPE, LatAMs. would suddenly embrace RIMMs push email? That's a paradigm shift which has a very very nil chance.

  • RIM's Crisis Could Be an Opportunity, Again [View article]
While Rimm is indeed strong at the enterprise market.

Will CIOs continue to pay the premium?

I'm sure their is pricing pressure on the enterprise market.
which can eat into RIMMs margins

  • RIM's Crisis Could Be an Opportunity, Again [View article]
RIMM's hold of the enterprise market looks to be under competitive threat

    which would bring pricing lower
    and margins lower for RIMM

    thus negatively affecting future earnings

I'm sure enterprise accounts of RIMM are negotiating for a cut in charges.

    RIMM focused on mobile email

Apple focused delivering unparalleled mobile multimedia experience
with mobile email and or messaging just an added bonus.

    Remember

    EMAIL is FREE.
How RIMM is making money out it still puzzles me.

Corporate EMAIL. Where RIMM makes it dough.
But soon corporations will negotiate aggressively with pricing.
    and RIMM's revenue will drop

RIMM is very good in EMAIL.
Thats all Folks. No things else follows.

That business model is prone to competitive pressures.
Much like the electronic pagers of the 1980s. It will be heading to obsolescence

What people are unaware of is that in GSM only countries.
    RIMM is being canned.
Look at china.... Blackmarket for Iphones have flourished.
    Do you hear RIMM there????

Somethings got to change in RIMM's business model.
