  • Introduction to a Long Lecture on Oil [View article]
We went to Iraq to secure oil supplies and as a minor point to prevent Sadam from re-start any WMD program once the UN was off his back.

China is a good example of a country securing energy sources. Many countries are and have nationalized their resources and with growing internal demand, they will export less. Again, china is a good example of this.

The Bush and Regan adminstrations were basically pushers for corporate control fo resources both here and abroad. Regan undid any initiative Carter started to have us become energy independant. The US will be disabled because oil is no longer cheap and Bush had driven us into deep debt so corporations and the Military Industrail complex could make billions.

Two oil men in power, Bush and Cheney, both from
Texas and both part of the corporate take over. But not many care until destruction happens.

  • Getting Out of Today's Bear Market  [View article]
Europe is built around small central areas where you can get around without a car. The US was built with cheap oil. People insisted on large trucks, SUV, etc so GM and Ford bult them. We wanted a "country" style life in the suburbs and didn't mind long commutes. With world demand rising, the US life style will decay because energy won't be cheap again. There is hope that we find new energy alternatives but oil is unique in its properties and can't easily be replaced.

This government has failed us and even though we should drill for oil in places like off shore, this will be temporary and may give us more time to build up alternative energy. Most of the American population (I am a citizen) are fools. They never want to do something becaue it will change the future, just get the most now. Once the results of bad decisions happen they is an outcry of how can this happen? I have tried to talk to a number of people about issues, none will listen (this does not include most people on these boards who are concerned). I have suggested reading books like The Long Emergency (Kunstler), Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (Perkins), etc. There is no response to my emails. These are mostly highly educated people.

Over the next decade the US will have to change dramatically and to reduce oil imports we must get on some other fuel. Hybrid cars will be the first step. Hydrogen, may be the second. Those that say that hydrogen is just a storage medium are like someone stating a few pounds of Uranium can't possibly produce much energy, just look at how much coal it takes.

We must hold down population as well, there is too much immigration and too many groups that have large families. We are invaded by illegals and now, because of the Latino groups like La Raza, the Catholic church and business groups, our border has been open for far too long. Yes, many Americans are fools.

  • Can Saudi Arabia Push Down the Price of Oil? [View article]
We need the high price of oil (but also some stability) to force dim witted Americans to conserve resources. How many women do you see in big SUVs going shopping from mall to mall and dropping off kids for all their activities? They are the biggest wasters of resources.
Speculation is most definitely a part of the price rise. Witness the price of housing or any bubble that was driven by speculation. Oil has more parts and is a declining resource but saying speculators out for quick money are not there is ludicrous. Require a 50% margin on futures and watch the price fall. Of course the trend is up because little was done to demand efficiency. Cheap oil has led to waste and a public mindset of use it now and let the future take care of itself. Drilling along the coast is needed and the excuse that it would not help in the short run is like saying we should give amnesty to illegal aliens because we can't deport all of them (so deport half of them). In 10 year we will need that oil for the long transition and drilling must start soon.

Finally, we need to greatly slow immigration and stop illegal immigration. Finally, Bush is doing one thing right but Obama and McCain are just panderers to Latino special interest groups. Population growth is the main reason resources are running short, do we really need more people here? The future is now here.

  • $125 Oil Not Sustainable for the Time Being [View article]
High oil price is the much needed wake up call for the U.S. Our government bozos have done nothing to reduce our oil dependence except recent subsidies for corn ethanol. Money is the only driver of change here. If oil were to drop below $100, it would greatly slow development of alternative energy and conservation. The last eight years have been wasted and its now our last chance to get going.

Since our whole nation and economy is built on cheap oil, this will cause a great deal of pain. Total oil reserves are estimated a 2 trillion barrels of which over 1 trillion (the easy half) have been used. Many producing wells are now in decline and any new sources are much harder to get to. World demand is rising and many countries are controlling oil for national purposes. Even Iran knows that oil is limited and needs an alternative source of power. Political situations and competition for oil will itself drive up prices. Out of the remaining amount of oil, we may only get 50% of it because it takes energy to get it out. All of this points to an upward trend. What thing would make it go down? Will there be some massive, easy to pump oil discovery? Will there be a giant slump in world demand? Will the US suddenly get huge sources of alternative energy and have everyone in HEVs in the next 5 years? HEVs will demand more electricity. I don't see much to drive oil down.

  • Drivers Are Feeling the Pinch [View article]
Once again my friends, the Bush administrationhas only promoted oil and more recently corn ethanol. The utterly stupid policies of this guy have put us behind 8 years so the only driver is the recent run up in oil prices. Money s the only way we get most people to do anything so the pain needs to remain. The PHEV will help but will take time to come out and filter down. Mandated conservation will contribute (use of efficient lighting and heating). We need to be an electric economy where that source is from renewables like wind, solar and geothermal. Oil and N. Gas can then be use where needed for chemicals, and residential use.

A company like WEGY has developed a new method to efficiently hear water, among other things. Diesel can be made synthetically see SYNM and new engines TTEG, AXVC. High prices will support these technologies but will be hard on some people while getting there. I own all of these.

  • Is Oil Overpriced at $105/Barrel?  [View article]
While corporations have been exporting US jobs, inflation has been kept under control by the cheap labor in Mexico and China. Now that the Chinese are consuming more goods, energy and food, the demand has raised prices. We make less and get paid less while prices will increase. We must get a good government to change our direction. I think the only solution is a massive program to produce domestic alternative energy and rebuild infrastructure. This will be equivalent to the moon program or WWII and must include national pride in conservation to greatly reduce oil imports. Seven years have now been lost and if we wait any longer, we may not recover.
