  • Housing Affordability Falls: Is Real Estate Market in Recovery? [View article]
Professor Perry's record speaks for itself.... Follow his advice at your peril:

    No credit crunch: seekingalpha.com/artic...

US Economy doing quite well: seekingalpha.com/artic...

We're still a long way from a banking crisis: seekingalpha.com/artic...

A little perspective, according to the world of Dr. Mark Perry:

    First, there's no recession:

Second, the monetary base was growing at an acceptable rate:

Third, the big one, there is no credit crisis:

Remember, this is an *economist* saying this. And yet I highly doubt that any respected economist would buy this, nor is the market (A2/P2 less AA spread, TED spread both blown out to ridiculous levels).

  • Las Vegas Home Sales Increase 85% in March  [View article]
It's amazing what can happen when prices revert to the mean. Although I don't buy the "housing recovery" nonsense. There is still too much inventory, shadow inventory, and pent up seller demand for the market to recover any time soon. If prices are allowed to revert to historical values (which the powers that be are doing everything possible to avoid) we may see a national uptick in sales. Unless the reversion occurs, expect a decade of stagnant or slowly declining values. I won't event throw in demographics which will likely keep prices in check for the next 20 years or so.

I think "seasonally adjusted" is the key word here. What is the raw data point? Seasonally adjusted usually implies some fudging of the data to obtain a more favorable result.

One less walk in closet, what does this portend? Americans are eschewing their pack rat, materialistic tendencies? WHAT'S THE POINT MARK? You've apparently made a career out of citing statistics with no analysis. Could you at least try to extrapolate something from the plethora of data you post? Seeking Alpha is meant to be more than just a link farm.

  • Four Bubble States Are Most Affected by Foreclosures [View article]
So what are you trying to say? That 4 states make up the entirety of the "foreclosure crisis"? I would beg to differ, based up YOY statistics the states you site as not being a problem have had significant increase in foreclosures.

  • Housing Crisis Is Key to Economic Recovery [View article]
    Steven

Good analysis. There will be no normalcy in the markets until asset prices are allowed to correct and the bad debts are flushed out of the system. Government intervention in the markets must cease too. I've been sitting on the sidelines for several years waiting for house prices to correct before becoming a homeowner again. The way things are going, it seems that will be several years away if ever.
