  • After Hour Gainers / Losers [View news story]
The +6.6% increase for BWLD is soooo misleading. There was only one trade at 145.50 after hours (at 1800 hours) which was subsequently cancelled. The other trade at 1800 hours was for 136.53. To highlight the increase of 6.6% was very misleading

The BWLD +6.6% was soo misleading. At 1800 hours only one trade was made at 145.50 and then subsequently cancelled. The other trade at 1800 hours was for 136.53 which was not cancelled so technically there was not increase for BWLD after hours. Anyway why would you report such an increase when it only resulted from one small trade that was later cancelled.

  • Should Berkshire Hathaway Finally Pay A Dividend? [View article]
Interesting article. Thank you for the presentation. Isn't, a 63% difference in return in favor of the mid cap insurance company enough to compensate for the difference in risk, particularly since the mid cap insurance company has demonstrated a consistent unbroken record of paying dividends at 80% of EPS for 5, then 10, then 15 and then 20 years?

  • Should Berkshire Hathaway Finally Pay A Dividend? [View article]
Totally agree. Eventually the Berkshire stock will be sold. Lets assume in 20 years, when Buffet will no longer be making the decisions, the stock is sold. On a comparable basis (after tax) the Berkshire yield of 460% will be reduced assuming a 20% cap gain tax to 368%. When compared to the 507% after tax return from the mid cap insurance company ($392 less 20% of 60 divided by $75) the difference of 139% (507% less 368%) might be considered significant. Just another perspective.

Yes but each scenario assumes the same growth rate so payout over 10 years under each scenario can be compared without growth rate distortion.

You didn't explain the 36% increase in Revenue from 2013E to 2014E which seems high based on the other information you provided. Thanks
