      Bond Trader: Friday Wrap
i don't much trust any bonds other than treasuries for now, so for me, they "are" the most interesting part of the bond market

Friday's Bond Outlook: Buy 3-Month Bills and Canned Tuna
great no-nonsense post, perfectly concluded with: "...the announcements by each of these giant companies reinforces the notion that there are more surprises lurking in the wings."

re the above comments re inflation, thomas jefferson's late 1700's quote always comes to mind, simplifiying: we'll be inflated to be deflated

i lean toward the gist of the article (and as per CloroxCowboy above in the comments); karchard's comments seem too throw away for me

      Do Investors Need ETNs?
i agree w/ davew above: "Overall risk inherent within every investment must be considered by an investor prior to making a final decision."

one reason i avoid some etf's that cover an area that otherwise interests me, is lack of volumne

US's Looming Stagflation Bodes Poorly for Asia
no growth + inflation = bad for long bonds, if, deflation, and fear, don't take hold; then it'll be a shame one didn't have some of these 4+ % - 30 yr bonds already in hand

      risk rises both directions

Wednesday Outlook: The Bad News Is the Good News
throw into the mix that retail sales in europe were reported this morning to have dropped to 1995 levels, and it starts to get interesting for all the de-coupling foreign-earnings bulls

re Fannie Mae (FNM), i think this is enough nonsense; if they are gonna have public monies to use and as backstop, they need to be reigned in re risk, period

actually all i seem to hear is rah rah everything's fine now in the media

opposite your experience of hearing only negativity

news, not opinion, this morning was retail sales in europe down worst since 1995; wouldn't be impact the de-coupling foreign-profits-are-al... thinking?

no? but still maintain the thought that overally negative thinking is controlling right now?
