Long AGNC MTGE NLY. Will be adding more shares of all three over the course of this year and finalize my position in Mreits. I see no need to limit oneself to one, but I am more inclined to add just a bit more in NLY. Experience and the fact that they are more conservative is a more prudent approach, IMO.
"This is a market where even an idiot can win," says the head of a stock-study seminar in Tokyo. One of his students is a believer after banking coin by taking money saved to attend fashion school in the U.K. and instead buying shares. "It's starting to feel like the old days," says a 70-year old retiree after booking a 2-day 12% gain in Hitachi. [View news story]

I am not an accountant, but when you sell shares from your brokerage account you MUST choose a cost-basis method, seems you chose FIFO, which means First In-First-Out, which means the lot you sold was the First bought, First Sold. Looks like another bad day for refiners on fears of increased costs from tougher standards on gasoline, even as BAML says yesterday's selloff of Valero (VLO -4.8%) was overdone. WNR -7.6%, PSX -6.9%, MPC -6.2%, ALJ -6.1%, NTI -5.3%, TSO -4.7%, HFC -4.7%. CVR Refining (CVRR -1.5%) is lower even after announcing estimated costs to meet Tier 3 standards are less than $20M.
