It's funny, I hear all this talk about shortages but I have yet to hear about someone not being able to buy gas because there was a shortage. Alternative energy is here to stay and as time and technology progress it will supplement our oil demand more and more.

This is so like the dot com bubble its scary. I just wonder what it's going to take to make everyone wake up and realize this is ridiculous. When it happens though oil is going to plummet.

High oil prices ain't such a bad thing. We have all the energy we will ever need from the sun, wind, and the earth (thermal). It is just a matter of time before they are more cost effective than oil.

Couldn't agree more, after this is all over we are going to look back and wonder how it ever got to this. It's as if the speculators and investment banks are creating a illusionary oil shortage on a global scale. When this is all said and down I hope the SEC comes down hard on GS and Boone like they did on the tech analysts and pumpers after the dot com bubble popped.
