Phillip Morris: Smoke 'Em If You Own 'Em
      Hello Todd

I know that we have words in the past over some of your Starbucks calls but I would like to thank you for writing this well thought out article full of facts and figures. I believe that your analysis is spot on with concerns to the spinoff of PM and this will be a great company to hold for the long run. Thanks for the analysis.

Expecting Apple to Reach $300 in 2008
Thank you sir for writing a well informed factual based article based off true analysis. I look forward to reading more of your articles because your analysis is very similar to how I value my stocks. I realize that you are going to get many rebuttals because you were bold enough to list a price that you believe the stock will reach but I would like to remind those commenters that you were ok with the idea that Apple was going to plummet lower than 120. Once again great article you have renewed my faith in the articles on this site.

Is this guy a political pundit or a stock analyst. For his sake I hope neither is the case because he is a ignorant opinionated fool who hides his political views under the guise of an article on stocks. As if I dont have to hear enough of this crap on tv I now have to read it on financial sites. Go vote democrat and walk away from the computer. For all of our sakes.

      Unfairly Punished Apple Still Fresh
I did some research and here is what I found out about the vaunted article that you love to mention Webster. what you fail to state is that in the original article from WSJ you omit this important note:

“Nobody was able to hack into the systems on the **first day** of the contest when contestants were only allowed to attack the computers over the network, but on Thursday, the rules were relaxed so that attackers could direct contest organizers using the computers to do things like visit Web sites or open e-mail messages…”

      (news.yahoo.com/s/infow...)

The article portrays a scene where the MacBook Air was penetrated in the *first* 120, when in fact it lasted the whole first day– an automatic, over the network penetration belays more devastating vulnerabilities in an OS vice tricking users. Besides, all virii/trojans/exploits reported so far are the kind that rely on social engineering to get an OS X user to install– more of a trojan horse rather than OS weak point. Whether the hacker’s technique was different or not from this vector is not revealed by this or any article covering CanSecWest.

And I thought that Apple had fans. Wow Webster I am not sure what your issue is. Could it be that you are one of those individuals that have shorted Apple and are now feeling the pain? To the point that you are making about the Mac being hacked faster than Vista. If we ranted and raved about what computer was hacked faster or what operating system was full of viruses and blue screens of death I think you would have to be extremely ignorant to believe that Microsoft is a superior product. I saw the artcile that you are reffering to but I have no way of determining the validity of the testing and I am quiet sure neither do you. As someone who owns and always will own Microsoft based computers I have learned to live with the constant bugs, patches, and huge resource hog that is Microsoft. While I sit back and watch my girlfriend do her digital imagery on a Mac book never suffer a problem or a setback. I think instead of going whacko on one article one should probably look at the years of customer satisfaction with Apple.
As far as this article goes: Thank you sir for writing a wonderful article based on true analysis of historic figures. It is refreshing to see someone take their job seriously and not just opine about things way beyond their ability to quantify. I look forward to reading more articles from you on some other stocks.

What Is Starbucks Doing Out There?
Thank you Grimmer. And though I may have been more rude then necessary I am just sick and tired of analysts continuing to take initiatives made my companies and being the naysayer. It is easy to sit on the sidelines and shout when you are not held accountable for your calls. It is another thing like you said when you have to publish all of your rights and wrongs. If these guys were this wrong in the business world any company they ran would be bankrupt and I still hold to my premise that his last article on how he would solve the company is ridiculous. So as far as the " not self-righteous just right" comment it is important to understand that a broken watch is right twice a day but that does not make it a good watch.

You really need to get over your self-righteous self. You are the same bozo that thought that starbucks needed to become kid friendly. Although I am not sure who is the bigger dunce you for writing this crap or me for reading the article once I saw that it was you who wrote it. If you dont like starbucks and you dont own the stock then leave it be. You people claim to be these great visionaries when all you and your kind do is find the newest stock that has been beaten down and then opine about how you could do it better. I notice that there was not a peep out of you during the years of explosive growth under Howard Schultz. Somehow I am thinking that I am going to bet my money on Schultz genius and not your pathetic attempts to laugh and point at a great company that had a setback. Do us all a favor and write about something you know. I noticed that you did not draw your endless McDonalds comparisons or scream about KID FRIENDLY this time so I guess that is progress.

What Visa's IPO Means for This Market
Lets look at these comments for the very answer that we are all searching for. Why did JPM release the shares to the public market. Hummmmm lets see. Oh wait a minute I know the answer. How about that is what they are supposed to do during a companies IPO. How about all of those comments on retraction of the economy. Well there are but that does not stop people from spending money on necessities and the ability to defer those costs in the hopes of better times ahead are what drives most people to have credit card debt. With that said though the fact is that we are moving quickly towards a cashless society. Debit cards are now used for the majority of purchases made on a daily basis and the last time I checked those debit cards have a big Visa or Mastercard stamp on them. Also with the international exposure of these businesses they will reap the benefits of other nations not dealing with a housing crisis purchases. I love when people make decisions based off of gut feelings or bad info. It allows others time to get in at a price point they like. If you are so bearish on Visa then please short it with all that you have because I look forward to shorts rushing to cover. To your point GKM about Blackstone. These are two completely different businesses with different models. You might as well be comparing Toyota to Apple or Altria to Sirius.

      Starbucks: Is A "Transformation" Necessary?
I could not disagree more on the majority of your points. The one that I do agree with is the seating. Often times there is not much room to sit and that could be improved. With that said and as you stated Here is how I see it.
      1. Cleaning tables: To have a bunch of barristas running around wiping up tables is the last thing that I am looking for from Starbucks. Stay behind the counter and make the drinks. You can wipe up your own muffin droppings. Could you be any more lazy. If you want a resteraunt atmosphere go to Mcdonalds with a hundred loud people.

      2. Not really sure that shrinking the menu is called for. The majority of the drinks all start from a similar coffee base and it is normally only syrup or milk that makes the drink different so I am fine with the variety.

      3. As far as Organinc. Give me a break. There is a small albeit growing group of people that like organic but and this is a LARGE BUTT. Organic milk costs more and does not last as long. We have all drank non-organic milk our whole lives and there is no reason for Starbucks to voluntarily take on a lower profit margin item which they will have to pass along to the consumer in the way of higher prices. Which seems to be one of your major complaints. I also see that there is no "but McDonalds does it"reference here.

      4. Point four about being corrected by the Barrista is an absolute joke. Do you expect any of us to believe that this happend or that if it did that it was something more than an isolated incident. Get over yourself.

And now for the most ridiculous statement made in this article. MAKE STARBUCKS KID FRIENDLY.
Let me tell you a little something about that. When I go into any establishment that charges a premium the last thing I am looking for is a bunch of yelling screaming kids running around. I live in Northern Virginia where at the finest resteraunts parents allow their children to run and yell. It is ludicrous. Some places should never go kid friendly because uncontrolled kids ruin others experience. Now I will say upfront that I have a six year old son and there is no way that I would think to take him to a fancy resteraunt nor to spend my time with him in a Starbucks. You want kid friendly (yelling screaming crying and running) I can point you to the nearest McDonalds for your dining and drinking pleasure.

In short come up with something real to complain about. Like long lines driven by inadequate training. Drive thrus that cheapen the experience. Something anything other than the drivel that you have layed forth in your article.

iPhone SDK and Restrictions: Some of the Details Aren’t Great
Hello to all of my faithful bloggers out there. To answer a question posed by another blog I do believe that Seeking alpha is becoming nothing more than an opinion blog and stops looking at actual investment fundamentals. There are however a couple of good articles that lay out the fundamentals and math used to derive the information. As far as this article goes however I chalk it up to the rest of the bashers of Apple. Full disclosure: While I am long Apple I would sell it the minute that the fundamentals did not support ownership. What these type articles tell you is a bunch of opinions not supported by numbers or important factual data. Most of these writers were silent when Apple was moving up because to come out against it at the time would have looked foolish. Now that a great company has suffered a setback they come in after the fact with their "sage wisdom". They are not financial prophets but merely write stories to suit the current conditions of the stock. True economists would see that the ROE is approx 30% and the PEG ratio is almost 1. The forward PE on this stock is about 19. Who would not be willing to buy this stock at the discounted rate of today. It is and has been a stellar perfomer and growth company. There is no factual reason to believe that they will not hit the mark on their Iphone sales not to mention the ever increasing market expansion of the MAC computer. I am and always will be an owner of Microsoft computers but the new generations are drawn to Apple because lets face it its a better more stable product. This company has found a way to tap into the younger generations desire to have "sexy tech products". As the older generations move out and are replaced with an army of new college graduates dedicated to Apple products we will see a continued increase in their market dominance. This is an investment to own for the long term and it is selling at a large discount. Apple is on sale. To all of those that thought it was a buy at $180 nothing has changed fundamentally. If you dont like Apple there are 1999 other stocks to choose from but before you bash any stock please do some true fundamental analysis.
Thank you to all that contribute their thoughts and God bless our troops.

Intel, Google, Apple: Valuation Anomalies To Consider
This is another ridiculous article that attempts to bash companies that have had a slip in their earnings revenues. Of course a company like Apple or Google would have lower stock prices at a certain multiple point in the past. Once companies prove that they possess a consumer monopoly and can introduce products or services to the market that consumers will faithfully purchase then the stock price will be bid up. Apple of 2000 or Google of its IPO days were not the highly coveted growth machines that they are today. Even though there has been a slip in the stocks prices lately the fear-mongering that this article attempts is absolutely shameless. While your at it why dont you point to the valuation model for Coke or Pepsi or Altria as I am pretty certain that all of those companies used to have at one point valuation abnormalities. If you are going to bother to write an article how about attempting to balance it with some facts other than abstract numbers. Take the time to explain that proven performers garner a high price for their growth than slow performers and that as the stock gets beaten down the PE multiple drops. However since nothing has gone wrong with the underlying fundamentals of the business intelligent investors are not going to rush away in a panic. They will see this as a great buying oppurtunity and accumulate shares. In close my question to this author is "Do you really think that Apple is ever going to trade at 7-9 dollars or Google is going back to 100." That is as likely to happen as you rewriting this article with some balance to your information.
