Has Apple Hit a Wall in Music Innovation?
Have to agree with most of the comments. Apple could trick out the iPod with cr@p features, maybe a bottle opener. But the market share pretty much says they know what they're doing.

I think there's still room for new features. Wireless sync would be a big one. Apple is expert at rolling out new features over time, when they need to.

Did Apple Cave or Did NBC Bend?
Maybe it sounds chilidish, I don't know. But NBC execs would have a hard time explaining to shareholders how leaving iTunes was good for business when they were the best selling tv shows for the best selling portable media player. How do they explain the lost revenue?
They had hulu in the wings, yes. But the content couldn't be placed on an ipod. The networks need to embrace the changes, not run away.
Still, NBC coming back AND offering some free content is a good sign that they're catching on to the new world.

Five Reasons Steve Ballmer Thinks Apple's a Buy
      Tom B -

I won't argue, but it really bugs me that a stock could be manipulated so easily. Is it pundits or is it the institutions? How can it be possible on such a scale??

As for the conservative guidance: I can see that if it wasn't such a constant. But by now Apple's lowballs should be factored in, and the consistent performance should be rewarded.

Thinking it's the general state of the economy seems like the most comforting explanation, as a long.

Five Reasons Steve Ballmer Thinks Apple's a Buy
Quarter after quarter Apple outperforms expectations and previous quarters, moving into record territory. But the stock can't get over the $200 hurdle. I'd love to know where it would be in a healthier market.
Even with the current market conditions, I have to wonder how all this good news could already be factored into the share price. It doesn't seem logical for Apple to keep hitting home runs and not get back to $200 per share. Mac sales increasing at a remarkable rate, stock stuck in the mud.
      Someone tell me why...

Best Buy to Sell iPhones: The Symbiosis Grows
You have to assume this is the news that drove the recent stock bump upwards. Where are the people who busted Martha Stewart? It would be nice if stocks moved when the news was made public and not two days earlier.

Wireless: Give People What They Want
I don't expect AT&T to figure much out. The behemoth carriers don't seemed interested in moves that cultivate loyalty. They only seem to respond to force.
Verizon cripples their phones without prejudice. Rogers, I believe, is charging extra for Caller ID! Voice prompts and features in voicemail are abysmal. It took Apple's first phone to actually wake these people up - and all they're doing is putting a slightly new spin on their old playbook. Monopolies at work.

One of the better Seeking Alpha articles I've read.

Canada is ruining the iPhone experience. How can rogers be THAT short-sighted?
I agree with another point, the USA and Canada need to do away with incoming text charges. The way we've fallen behind the rest of the world on mobile device use is going to come back - and bite us.

ijah420 - my point wasn't about how good a nokia phone might be or whether or not they give them away. they might give them away but they have to pay for the components, which is the point of the story.

I can't believe people put so much energy into charts like that one. What happened to past performance doesn't indicate future results?!
All it takes is one major announcement - like Boot Camp - and the chart means NOTHING.

Apple opened up with a million iPhones sold - but doesn't Nokia sell something like a million phones every DAY? It seems like the iPhones contribution to these vendors would be nominal at best.
