Visa Estimates Upped Through 2010
and a different time.
But from 1996 to March 2000 I saw IPO's go to 10 times their public offering in less than 3 months. Good ole dot com days that was the wildest bubble and absolutely win win win until 3, 2000.
Companies came out that had never made money, lol some that never intended to make money, some had been a company for less than a year (on paper only) and a few that are barely alive today.
Yahoo, ibid, ubid, ebay, amazon, nextlink, nortel, doubleclick and etc.
Spring of 97 I was new to internet and never bought a stock before. Opened an account with DLJ with $18k and by 12, 99 was sittin on $243k. LMBO by June, 2k I was sitting on 50k and the rest is history.
That was the wildest I ever seen in the market.
I compare that time in the market to the 60's in the U.S.
Everything changed forever.
Who Will Trigger E*Trade's Magic Moment - and a 111.4M Short Squeeze?
The only thing that I'm still clueless about is the short itself.
I thought that to short a stock was to bet/hope that the price went down. But have never really understood how someone actually profits from that.
Now as to Mrs. Reed, I have seen all her articles on the positive rah rah rah etrade and grew cautious because she never points out any negatives.
LOL she sounds alot like a guy that calls himself V****** on visa articles that is strictly rah rah rah go visa and wants not to hear anything negative even balanced posts about that stock.
Now I am long on both the V and etrade. I wish I had as much V as I did etrade lol. I was one of the dumbies that rode etrade all the way down.
If I knew how shorts worked, I don't think I would ever buy anything but a short. PGH and V are the only 2 stocks that I ever bought that didn't take a signifcant nose dive before they came back up (well not all of them back up and none of them very positive). :(
Again Rossetti2000 I have to say that your post was one of the, if, not the best posts I have seen on SA!

Sorry to you too Greencap. Thats what I get for being so narrow minded.
Credit Card Spending Surges, While Retailers Slump
Personaly I like Sears. Craftsman tools is all I'll own.
But they have no motivation at there stores. It is definetly an upper management problem too.
Their marketing is a disaster. I have thought many times about sending an e-mail to the VP of sales and sayin; Hey, fire your regional manager over my area and I'll double your inventory turns and boost your same store sales by at least 10% in a 16-20 month period!
It would be sooooo easy. Yes even and really easier during this recession.

If you are trying to convince me or others to buy MA well can't speak for others but I don't want to own MA. I have V and that is enough for this very small sector ( as in providers ).
I'm making money off of V. As per cost per share, I can buy a whole lot more V @ $85 per share than I can MA @ $300 per share.
It does not matter if I have $10k or $1 mil to spend, I can still buy more V than MA. To be honest I don't care if V ever catches MA in price per share as long as V continues to grow. I'm still making great ROI. Already have great ROI with ACPS @ $63!
I'm not one to put too many eggs in any one basket no matter what the ROI is.
So go ahead and continue to push MA and tell us all how much better MA is than V and I will continue to chuckle @ your posts while enjoying my ROI in Visa.
Have a great day :)

I am curious though as to why you continue to post about MA on a Visa article? I know you own V and MA but why do you keep trying to say that MA is much better than V?
MA should be trading more than V, it has been out for what 18-20 months?
I'm glad for you that MA is growing in per share value. But so is V :)

And for what reason?
Visa Estimates Upped Through 2010
It states in the prospectus about how much V Inc will have to pay for V EU. In the short run it will set V back abit but, in the long run it will be great.

To those that were on vwinnersblogspot should read the emails and read how people were treated here as well.
Make your own minds up.

A Reason To Be Cautious on Visa, Mastercard
But it could be a very costly merge to Visa Inc in the short term for what they may have to pay for V EU. That will come either 4th quarter this year or by May of 09.
But in the long run it should or better yet will add grat value to Visa Inc.

Lol what you told me as that I was not loyal to the team for posting "balanced posts" instead of ra ra rah and cause I was posting like SA or Yahoo finance. I still have the e-mails should I print them here?
Again Johnathan you are trying to make yourself the important one at others expense. By your own posts on here you are just like the rest of the investors here ( except for your over promoting and clueless on how to make friends and influence people ).
This is an investors blog, you have your own personal blog now, why are you continully coming here?
By your own posts here, people can make there minds up for themselfs for who you really are.
I will not argue with you anymore. I will however pray for you.
