  • BP Accused of Crude Oil Price Manipulation [View article]
Since we are all seekingalpha readers, check out the posts by Phil Davis, undisputably the best explained post about the present problems with oil prices. Most of all we need to hold our elected officials to do what they were elected for, represent the citizens and their interests.

  • EU Politics: Only Rookies Have No Plan 'B'  [View article]
the bigest problem with all of those "burrocrats" is that most of them have never run a business of their own, being resposible for its payroll and cash flow. The population problem in Europe, (I was born and raised in Portugal) is derived from obsolet labor, housing and education rules. We are educated to be a paper pusher somewhere, demand a job that does not exist for which we would not be qualified and would not produce enough to pay our own compensation, forget about producing a profit to expand the enterprise, and demand that that job is guaranteed almost forever working 11 months a year and getting paid for 14 months. Then we want to rent a place to live in and once you get in the landlord pretty much looses control of the property, although still resposible for the taxes and up keep. Because those jobs no longer exist and no one is going to invest in property under the actual leasing laws, the young people are forced to live at home with their parents, where they can not have the freedom to develop full relationships leading to mariage. That is my view on the problems afecting the european graying population. This is a result of two generations accepting the Crap the polititians have been feeding us for the last 40 years to keep getting elected.

  • How to Fix Our Economy: Stop Obama’s Recklessness [View article]
I'm dead tired of reading these posts about how the President is wrong about all is doing. We have been in a decline for the last 35 years by accomodatibg the big business and screwing the public. Now the same companies that poluted this country's land, air and water took their dirty deeds to Mexico, China, etc... to lower costs and sell the stuff here for higher margins. The problem is that creating a one trafic for technology, jobs and cash. In the end those companies forgot that the consumer is also the citizens and sooner or later the tide turns. Everybody is entitled to a profits on his labor but we have been victims of profiteering and worth, this companies have gamed the system and used the power to control the government to have ever increasing profits over the wellbeing of folk and country. $140 oil anyone? How many cadillacs and lincolns does the $7 chinese worker by from the USA?
I do not believe anyone wants a free meal, but what sense does it make that in a country facing an incredible recession and with thousand of previous middle class citizens living on the streets, the banks are buldozing brand new homes in front of tv cameras, while taking tax payers money to stay afloat?
Lets give the President the benefit of the doubt, G_d knows he got handed a real nightmare.
For those who think differently, the greatest thing about this Country is that any person can ran for office and show what their got. Roll up your sleeves, and get to work if you think you can get elected and do better. Talk is cheap.

  • Is Paul Krugman Serious? Sadly, Yes. [View article]
To all of you comlaining, I ask, why are you not running for office, this is the season!! Obviously you believe you know better. basic economics dictate that if you can't afford to spend it, you shouldn't, and that expenditures should be kept bellow revenues. So when the so called conservatives increased spending by 40% in 8 years in non producing assets and burocracies, what you have left is a national disaster.
Keep on calling names to those with solutions, and believe the same propaganda we have been fed since Reagan. There are many places to check who and why the deficits have been created and how they have affected our place in the world standings. It's just like spending money on toys and gadgets and complaining you don't have money for food and shelter. When you comlain about how someone as the wrong set of believes, you are doing so from your own, which of course will also be debatable.

  • Are Subsistence Wages Killing the US? [View article]
    User 68127. atokadoo:
You both can get of the Kool aid anytime now. Never mind that we atacked an unnarmed sovereign nation for no reason and that this discussion was about something totally different. Money is money, personal, state or federal, if you spend more than what you have, you are going to get in trouble sooner then later. We all need to get our polititians to be reponsible for their votes and to the business of running the country.

  • Comparing Income Taxes: Clinton vs. Bush [View article]
Somehow it seems that every time arepublican president creates groth is at the expense of the deficit. If you divide the amount Bush added to the federal deficit by the number of jobs created, he should have just paid them to stay home, and we would still have saved 50%. It all about who you give the money to. Mr. Buffet cna probably do without an extra $1000, while the guy working 2 jobs could use it. Try getting your hands dirty once in a while.
