      Nokia Is the Smart(phone) Bet - Barron's
oops! that pesky marketshare bit won't go away -- now that phones are getting smarter the niche-players with OS building savvy will own the future. MIcrosoft sort of knew this and Symbian was an attempt of honorable mention but I am betting on OS X running on the iPhone. A second Black Swan for Apple (the first was the iPod) and the third may be just the Mac.
PS you do have an optimistic smile!

Japanese Tech Stock Weekly Summary (Aug. 26-31)
how awful! and how poorly reported...
"...two new reports of minor fires in August in Tokyo caused by overheating iPod nanos." just the slums of Tokyo burning, a couple city blocks, no big deal.

This is news for a financial blog? TWO first generation nanos overheating? The world is coming to an end: repent, repent!

Interesting reporting, but the meaning of passive-aggressive is not what you think. Plus, you are trying to steal attention (clicks) by using another psychiatric idiom 'bipolar disorder' incorrectly. Trust me, I am a psychiatrist/psychoana... -- I will spare you of my diagnosis...
      cheers!

Channel Checks Show Blackberry Sales Not Pressured by iPhone
there were no iPhones to compete with -- they were sold out since late May. I, too, would plan propagandistic research, sweating bullets in dread of what is coming. Denial works for a bit, then comes anger, and later, perhaps, negotiation and resolution/acceptance....
      Cheers!
