RE: "John cut a new deal with advertisers because there are more ads now than ever before, and wonders why eBay’s new homepage begs teenagers to sign up. “Are you ready or what?”, “U + Me Forever”, and “I don’t dribble” are just a few of many childish ads now running."
Seems to me... This is exactly what the tobacco companies are doing!
What world do you live in Weblens? Unfortunately, the crooked sellers on ebay are not stupid enough to show close-up photos of the fake tags, bad stitching or anything other clue that may let the "fake cat out of the bag" so to speak. They will simply use a stock photo of the real product. And the consumer does not have the opportunity to physically hold and inspect the item before they buy as they would at a flea market or mall.
I do think that ebay should be held more accountable for the fraud and fakes that continue to plague their site. If they would spend more time reading the horrid feedbacks of fraudulent sellers and investigating the complaints, they might be able to get a better handle on this epidemic. But ebay doesn't want to suspend these types of sellers who continue to make them rich, do they? It's far too much money to just throw away to protect these "noisemakers" eh, weblens?

If someone wanted to pay $25,000 for a Rolex, I'm sure they'd buy it at a brick and mortar. Ebay is for bargain shoppers... at least they used to be.
They have their greedy little fingers in every other cookie jar, why not dip their sticky fingers in the protection jar too?
