Economic Report Summary: Higher Durable Goods Orders and New Home Sales
ArnoldCountry: There was a housing bubble in parts of the U.S. back in the late 1980s which ended with the S&L Crisis in the early 1990s. While the price appreciation back then was tame compared to the most recent bubble, it took five or six years to go from the peak in home prices (1990-1991) to the bottom (1995-1996) demonstrating how long it takes for real estate market cycles to play out.

The Great Television Price Inflation Scam
Yes, you have to account for it somehow, but saying that it costs $178 to replace my 32" tube TV is not the correct way to do it.

The Great Television Price Inflation Scam
There seems to be some confusion here about TVs and their prices. No major retailer carries 32" tube TVs - Best Buy, Costco, Circuit City, Sears, WalMart, KMart - None. To get a 32" Tube TV you have to go to Joe's Online Liquidators because these models are no longer in production. To replace a 32" TV today you have to buy an LCD or plasma which generally start at prices over $500.

"Another guy not bright enough to know to never use any information or data from the NAR."??

Their data is useful, their forecast and spin is not.

What part about "The NAR has an abysmal track record of forecasting sales volume and prices." did you not understand?

      Metals Market Mania
No. The editors at Seeking Alpha routinely change the headline as it originally appears at my blog. This is one of the relatively few occasions where they really didn't get it right. The original title was, "Some strange numbers in the metals market".
