  • 'Save Sirius' May Be Going Too Far [View article]
Apply for a government bailout... Seems to work for Fanny & Freddy with the U.S. Auto Manufactures coming in behind them.
Hell - after the FCC dragging there asses in taking over a year to approve this - it's pretty much there fault they can not find a way to gain any ground or profits.

  • XM, Sirius Draw Merger Lines [View article]
I'm soo glad to see that someone here has a brain to see through all the "BS".
Thank You - Disappointed AmericanMay 16 02:53 PM
For the comment and the link.
    And for - pmelloMay 16 05:51 PM
For the information given for all to email or call to make a difference.

I don't believe that these notions to place additional demands on Sirius/XM are needed. This moronic way of thinking that all things should be given for free to those of color because of there historical past slavery past is "BS".
No further restrictions should be put in place for this merger to be approved.
I hope that if this approval is not met by the FCC that further steps are taken to sued and that it is heard by a higher court to over turn the FCC's decision [if it come down to this]. And that those within the FCC not only loose there jobs but that also the FCC is in some way placed in jeopardy of having a government investigation.
It's amazing to me that this has taken this long for this merger to be approved when all outside fears from the NAB and others just are not justifiable.
It a luxury item that is not going to cause anyone heart failure.

  • Sirius/XM Competition Benefits Consumers  [View article]
    Agree with comment:
"To the rest of you that blame the whole FCC, where does that come from. The 3 Republicans are for it, and the 2 democrats that are against it. You want to blame someone, blame the two that are holding this up. The two democrats are the ones holding up the vote."

This is why I will be voting straight Republican ticket....

  • DoJ Approves XM/Sirius Merger - Stocks Jump [View article]
    [True.]
"Keep in mind that the death of radio has been predicted regularly almost since Paley and Sarnoff started slugging it out in the 20's."

    [Old Ga. Dawg]
I grew up listening to old "AM" radio when there wasn't much advertising being broadcast. Then advertising starting being more apparent and then "Talk" radio begin.
"FM" radio was wonderful in it's early starting with improved stereo sound and again - advertising started taking it over. Less music and more BS advertising. Money was more important to most radio stations than that of what listeners wanted to hear coming from there radios.
When Sat.Radio came into being - Consumers were given a choice of staying with free radio or subscription "pay" radio without "Talk or Advertising".
Which Sirius and XM Radio were suppling consumers with. The only problem was enticing consumers to subscribe to one or the other "pay" radio service.
Sirius radio carried certain programs that XM didn't - therefore consumers had to either afford one or both which was very costly.
With the merger approved "by both the DOJ & FCC (with no strings attached) would give consumers the choice of having the best of both Sirius & XM. Even if the offer would be an "a la carte" offering of what one wanted to keep individual cost to consumers down.
I personally look forward to the merger being approved by the FCC with no additional strings. This would definitely be a plus in the eyes of the American consumers.

  • DoJ Approves XM/Sirius Merger - Stocks Jump [View article]
IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME. Now if the FCC don't F-Up the approval by adding additional Bull-Shit to the merger that they "XM/Sirius" will have to UP Subscription cost to the consumer. This would not be something the FCC should try to have the individuals to whom subscribe to sat.radio to have to pay in additional cost so the NAB and others can try to further damage and possible causing "XM/Sirius Radio" to go under / bankrupt. This would only show to the American Consumer as to whom the FCC truly has interest in.

  • XM/Sirius Merger Still a Long Shot  [View article]
Hey Folks... This is a NO BRAIN'R... As long as dirty money spreads, the politicians pockets get filled and the special interest groups that oppose the merger - In the overall aspect of who wins verses who looses - We the people are the ones who are not heard and will eventually loose if the merger is not approved.
It is however a luxury item that not all can afford..
I'm a subscriber to Sirius and have been for a number of years. I would love to see the merger approved with NO STRINGS ATTACHED from Clear Radio or that from others that claim that "minorities are not benefiting" from this for reason of equal ownership. Another I think is a "Witch Hunt" for Howard Stearn. And how the terrestrial radio station are working to bring censorship to SatRad.
To end... Is that.. if the merger is not approved - And the final reason for none approval is not a reasonable one?
I certainly hope to see "If possible" - A huge law-suit brought against those to whom made a sizable profit of not listening to the people and decided that "monies in there pockets" out weight justice.

  • Here's Hoping Cramer Gets His Satellite Radio Merger [View article]
I too believe that the NAB & The FCC are all full of IT! As long as these people receive monies from political opponents who have nothing but terrestrial stations in there hip-pocket? They will continue to receive these offerings and ignore the people to whom pays there salaries. This merger should have been all ready passed & approved long before now. "FM" stations will eventually go as did the way of "AM" stations.
