Yes, appreciate it as well. I've invested in ADRs and I confess that I don't know the ins and outs of their registration. I was even considering buying the pink sheeted version of a Japanese ADR, which is what brought me to this article. Can't imagine why the Japanese don't want to get mixed up with our roulette version of a tort-liability system (a bit of sarcasm there).
I was reading in another column that Libor is a theoretical rate, a rate that would be if banks were lending to each other. It's obtained by gathering a theoretical rate from a number of U.K. banks, throwing out the highest and lowest sets of rates, and averaging out the rest. These banks don't actually lend to each other at the Libor rate. It's more like an opinion poll. However, there are a lot of financial arrangements that are tied to the Libor rate, for better or worse.

"The Best and the Brightist". Wasn't that a book about how a bunch of really smart people got in over their heads in the Vietnam war? And wasn't that similar to the name of the geniuses that helped FDR extend the Depression for another 8 years after he took office?
