  • Legg Mason: Quintessential Bear Market Value Play [View article]
For an asset mgr play, I would much rather STT (State Street).

  • Banks You Can Bank On [View article]
Ranked best managed bank in the nation and also continues to perform even in the midst of the downturn is Hudson City Bancorp - HCBK. Anyone would be crazy to not include them. It has been a terrific winner ever since the IPO.

  • Accenture Reaps Benefits of Slow Economy - Barron's [View article]
Accenture's biggest challenge is going to be to keep the partnership units off the free market and causing massive dilution in the share price. Since they have the free cash flow and tons of cash on the balance sheet, they will be able to pull that off. While Financial Services in North America is struggling, everything else is doing extremely well.

  • Wuxi Pharma: Too Much of a Good Thing [View article]
While also long in WX, even after this selling, WX will be a damaged stock in the eyes of alot of institutions. Having been through this before, while we may get a couple of point pop, it is unlikely to get back to 20 - 25 range anytime soon. Strongly considering unloading and cutting the loss.

I like ISIS here better than ROSG just based on technical performance of the chart. ISIS is much closer to ROSG and shown better accummulation. Long ISIS...

  • WuXi Pharmatech Reports Another Healthy Quarter [View article]
Also held WX since last November.
I think the trends to CROs, China labor, China economic growth, and increased US penetration makes WX an attractive long-term holding. However the secondary ADS does concern me even if it is postponed this time. I would rather see them use the Operating CF of $65MM (ttm) to grow.

  • Why I'm Cutting WuXi PharmaTech [View article]
WX has just broken above downtrend line that started on 12/11. I say hold long back till high 20's. A weekly close above 22.44 (200week MA) will be positive. Consolidating above 22 will also be a positive.

  • Under The Radar News - Wednesday [View article]
NO way is Accenture being bought out. Think HP buying EDS will be challenging? Try buying out a 170,000+ person company which is what Accenture is right now.

This article was spot on. Congrats on research well done. I was watching BABY from a technical standpoint only and with Q1 earnings out today, it is looking really good.

  • Goldman's $200 Oil Call and the Hurricane Premium Theory [View article]
For 'Seriously ?' - there was a good editorial in IBD today about the Canadian Oil Sands and the treatment it is subject to as an "alternative fuel". Oil Sands may not be such a slamdunk in the future if the US does not change some regulations. And while they are out changing regs on oil sands, I would love to see some ANWAR drilling allowed!

  • Goldman's $200 Oil Call and the Hurricane Premium Theory [View article]
Don't posit that the use of fossil fuels and it's link to the global warming is a done deal. The sun and its solar cycles have a much larger impact. You should stick to investment theory and not interject your own environmental warming prejudice.
