What you're alluding to is the equivalent of "escape velocity" vis a vis apple's market cap. Same thing happened to MSFT, goog, Orcl all of them. . Did the market really intend in 98 to value it at half a trillion dollars or something approaching that? No. It could not get past the gravity, the pull back to reasonable valuations. aaple will have the same issue. There's simply not enough thrust to break it and even if it did, it would be a spectacular blow off.
Author seems to allude to vague acquistions while ignoring that two on his list, Pfizer and Wyeth, are merging, much of Pfizer's cash, and ultimately Wyeth's will be going to the acquisition financing.

In the doctor's office yesterday, I read a fantastic piece in radiologytoday.net about the high demand from physicians offices for better imaging/display and the system of choice was Mac but again, the issue is lack of app providers but more are coming forward to develop the required applications - sounds like opportunity to me.

I used Mac's in the 80's, left for PC's in the 90s, and am back to Macs in the 2000s. Pretty much following Jobs, I guess. the plug and play, interoperability, etc. all work in the firms favor - just wish I'd backed up the truck further in 2001/02 for more stock. My kids take on line course work, downloading podcasts to their shuffles/iPods. They complete the coursework on their Mini's in real time online courses. The Mac experience is seamless, and while certainly the end of dell, it certainly does not bode well for Mr. Softee either.

I agree with John Pseudonym - this is a trader's market. The rest of us should modify our allocations on the margin perhaps, , if anything sell some US gov securities after this ridiculous run up and stay in cash on the sidelines until clarity emerges.
