How do each of the indexes differ in how they deal with rolling contracts forward? I'd like to see an explanation of this part of the issue that is as in-depth as your explanation of their differences in composition.

Also, how do ETN issuers invest the proceeds of selling notes? Do they invest directly in commodities? Do they buy futures contracts?
