Something else is going on, and I think the primary mover is (fall of) the dollar. But how's that going to change in the near term? We got record auctions coming, and the Fed is supposedly out of the game. Indeed, the dollar has remained pretty stable over the past few weeks, yet the stocks still rallied, as has gold.

I think the end is near, but to be honest that's what I thought in May, June, August, and September.

I think Murdoch is on to something. It's counter intuitive, sure. So is a fact that if you want to relieve traffic congestion you want to actually close down some roads, not build new ones. Yes, you can then, if you are bold, employ hundreds of millions to make doorknobs, toothpaste, T-shirts and shoes and improve their living standard from official UN poverty level ($1/day) to a solid middle class making $12,000 2009 dollars per year.
