Rising Oil and the Future of Globalization: Implications for Transport Stocks [View article]
Yea, yea yea, I dont see how switching around where products are made helps China and India power is growing consumsion needs. It takes a lot of electrc power and steel to bring well over 2 billion people out of the dark age into the 21st century. We are talking about Dry bulk, not container ships right. The point being China and India are going to have enough trouble keeping up with their own peoples demands. much less worrying about everyone else. I have some news, auto companies are not trying to build factories in China to build cars there for the US, they are more concerned about the 2 billion cars China will want.

Trolson, your nuts the price of commodities is directly linked. It tells what the demand for them is and will be. Hence if the demand for them is strong then the need to get them to the people that need them is strong. It works the other way for weak demand of commodities.
drys long, the amount of ship dwt. matters to the market share, which you have to admit matters to investors. Also why not go back to when they both started on the open market, and you have to take in account dividends. While in the two years, that still does not make up the difference, I am not a short term investor, and I will take a 8% return over a 1% every time. On top of that I dont like George Economous attitude towards shareholders, of take it or leave it, and "if you dont like it you dont have to own share in the company". That kind of attitude is a major problem for me and should be for most shareholders.
