  • Does Berkshire's Duracell Deal Mean That Buffett Thinks P&G Is Overvalued? [View article]
I have to respect what P&G is doing to reinvent itself.it takes a visionary and strong management to make these difficult but necessary decisions. On the other hand there is a reason the 2 big battery companies are being sheaded. They are disappearing, just like the newspaper business.when is the last time you got new news from the newspaper that you hadn't read on line or tv?
I could never invest with someone who buys newspapers, batteries and sell Ralston Purina before its huge run up in the 80s and 90s

Good Warren. You screwed the country out of paying taxes again. You along with the hedge funds have this tax system figured out. If you would pay your fair shares , we could balance the budget. Financial engineering and tax expertise. Brilliant

Good for Warren . He screwed the U S government out of paying taxes. Again.
Good for him,bad for the country.
No matter how you present this deal, I am wont to buy into declining business as batteries, newspapers and Heinz.
My common investment sense says this is not a sweet deal.
I like P and G and how they are reinventing themselves. That is the story that makes sense to me

Loss of tax revenue in Mexico falls exclusively on herbalife?
Hlf has no more exposure than any other company doing business in Mexico

  • Warren Buffett Nabs Duracell From Procter & Gamble [View article]
When Gillette bt duracell ,there were distribution synergies.that disappears under Buffet. At least Heinz had some synergies with the company it was combined with. The newspaper business ?
    I really have my doubts.
A reputation can go so far and then it's time to use your common sense. I don't like batteries ,Heinz or newspapers and just because buffet bought them doesn't make them smell tood

  • Warren Buffett Nabs Duracell From Procter & Gamble [View article]
This reminds me of the hemorraging continental baking company.
It was letter stocked and then cold several times.ended up in bankruptcy.Alkaline batteries sales are declining and have been for some time. The world is changing and Duracell and energizer are not part of it. Warren goofed on this one. I'd take the P and G stock any day

This article is more like wishful thinking and not based on conjecture rather than facts.
Matts imagination seems to be running amuck these days especially with hlf being up on the day after his article came out. He shot himself in the proverbial foot.

I don't see much future for the battery business.the profits are in U S alkaline sales and they are dealing rapidly.
Warren has no synergies as in personal care distribution and he is giving up shares in P and G which is reinventing itself for future growth and profits.
I think P and G did very well on this transaction.
Maybe Warren would like to by Energizer too and then he could watch them both go down the drain.

  • Herbalife's Latest Tactic Is Backfiring Badly [View article]
I don't usually comment on these blogs but this sensational headline is in my opinion just wrong.
To me ,it is unethical to make up stories about a company that have no basis in fact in order to support a short position.in my opinion it is just plain pejorative
