Unfortunately, there will never come a time or circumstance that I would ever go back to eBay. When they killed me off as a seller, they lost me as a buyer. I would never trust the company again.
Being forced to open my eyes and look at other opportunities has been the best thing that ever happened to my business. So in some sort of perverse way I owe eBay my gratitude.
I have been with eBay since the beginning as a buyer and seller.
I have found a way to adjust to their many changes over the years. I had to work harder and smarter and that was okay with me.
This latest round of fee changes did me in. Not because of increased cost, I would have found a way to work with that but because of an underreported statement made by one of the crack eBay management team in an email about the change who said, that by (paraphrasing here) that by lowering my front end listing fees, it would save me money if my item didn't sell.
While that may be a fact, the fact is combined with the changes to the search function and the competitors ads that appear with my listing taking them off the eBay site, I realized that eBay really doesn't care if I sell anything, either at auction or fixed price.
My goal is to move my merchandise. So, for the first time, I have made a rash decision about my business and am trying several other sites. Some free ones and one with a cost. Time will tell if I have made a good, alabeit quick decision.
It certainly won't be any worse than throwing money into the eBay money pit.

Hardly.

At some point the board and investors are going to catch on.
Unfortunately, or deservably depending on your point of view, it's probably already too late.
