"scobbydube" nailed it in their comment above. It is time to reward positive behavior (e.g. saving) with favorable tax treatment. Lowering interest rates to bail out the profligate penalizes the responsible saver. Where is the incentive to save? A tax exemption on X amount of interest per family, or tax credit would encourage positive behavior. Mar 16 07:38 PM
