Thanks Micah good points, it's funny the author says he's Long SHLD.

Lampert is compensated through common stock and only draws a dollar salary annually.

Berkowitz just added over 800,000 common shares last week and his ownership is now about 24%. Let see if Lampert buys.

There are not enough shares to cover the open short interest if the long term holders don't sell. But what news will trigger this.

Although when trading I do tend to go on both sides of the trade but I will admit Mark's comments so far have always been accurate.

  • Is Sears Entering The Retail Death Spiral? [View article]
Yes, as far as Berkowitz he really did his due diligence and Tisch is on the board. I would say they would really think before buying.

I can understand having an initial purchase and holding but when you continue to add big time while you see the bad news makes you think.

Are they that dumb or do they see something. Berkowitz constantly says Sears Holdings is a baby Berkshire Hathaway.

Mark, what's your opinion regarding the loan and why did the market take it so bad.

    Thanks

Was it just bad timing for Tisch and Berkowitz buying or do they know something we don't.

Tisch bought 475,000 common shares in April 2014 at around $33.50 a share = about $16M

You could look at the heavy investing in SYW and other subs as a major contribution to their losses.

Cut those expenses and it gets better.

Bruce Berkowitz buys more Sears Holdings over 700,000 shares increasing his holdings to 24%.

Looks like St. Joe will be doing business with SHLD.

The market looks at Sears Holdings as a retailer and losses only and not a holding company.

Lampert owns over 20,000,000 shares of the common personally aside from what he has in his hedge funds.

Berkowitz is under water in his position in Sears Holdings right now. A purchase by either would cause a massive squeeze.
