In May of 2006 when we first looked at NFP we felt this was exactly what would happen. The company was paying cash and stock up front to independent agencies for a % of their business. Not a good business model considering the average age of the sellers. With cash and stock in their pockets they were incentivized to slow down and take it easy... and that they did! Good bye NFP!
