I am 62 and had hoped to retire at 66. But my 401(k) became a dollar-forty-nine(k) and I'm just trying to figure out what happened. I know that I am the equivalent of the perennial loser who keeps the casino open, but I just want to figure out how I managed to have the last 20 years' worth of appreciation in my portfolios wiped out virtually overnight. I know there's no one place that contains the entire answer, but I think a piece of it might be on your site and in the correspondents' articles.
