Fast forward two years. ipod-like handheld minicomputer devices will be even more ubiquitous and powerfully feature-packed, in many cases displacing the laptop and home PC that will basically become big screen docking stations. In that era how silly it would be to have to individually pay for each item we download. Contracts that simplify access to media of any type will be the norm with individual payment being reserved for one-off special performances or events that can command a premium.
