      To Dinah Balk

      Could it get worse?

      Of course it can! LOL!

Sellers are now requesting, no, begging, Corporate eBay to leave 4th quarter alone! Don't do ANYTHING! Don't make ANY changes. Don't implement ANYTHING new! Just... leave 4th quarter alone!

The biggest buying season of the year! Think Corporate eBay will listen?!

      A thought:

Posted earlier I stated that the sellers were dumping their stock.

Too bad we can't reverse that. When the stock drops low enough, we buy, buy, buy up the stock. If all sellers commit to this, could the eBay corporation be re-taken?

Just a thought. But... spread the word across the boards? Maybe?
Stock is getting low enough it just could be feasible!

      Hi, Watching!!!

      Oakstrom is dead on!

      Corporation Propaganda.

This article and others similar showcase a complete and absolute cluelessness regarding what is actually going down at ebay. ebay is tanking by their own hand!

Corporate has turned on the entity that built it in the first place. This entity has now left and taken the buyers that loved them with them!

THE BUYERS CAME BECAUSE THEY LOVED WHAT WAS THERE ON OFFER!

When will Wall Street and such airhead reporters as this get a clue?

And the stockholders? Are they asleep? Surely longtime stockholders have some fundamental idea regarding the workings of ebay!

Wake up, Stockholders. SELLERS old and recent, who have in the past purchased stock themselves, have DUMPED their stock! This in and of itself is very telling.

Repeatedly this corporation has NEVER attended the input of its core foundation, the sellers! And from all my research to present, when the voice has been strong and virtually unanimous, they have proven RIGHT!!

Which ebay will NEVER become. They haven't the ethics.

EBay: Stock Swoons As Three Analysts Downgrade
Goldman Sachs analyst James Mitchell / He writes this morning that the lesson from the weak GMV in the quarter is that “eBay’s business is too large and complex to rapidly reinvigorate, especially in a challenging macro climate, causing consumers to trade down.”

American Technology Research analyst Tim Boyd / He says there were two reasons for the “horrid” growth: deteriorating consumer spending patterns reduced conversion rates and average selling prices, and growth in the Motors segment “fell off a cliff.”

Thomas Weisel’s Christa Quarles / of the typical eBay consumer will take at least 12-18 months,” she wrote in a note this morning. “While we applaud the aggressive stance that the relatively new eBay management team is taking with regard to seller pricing and buyer experience, we believe the company faces an uphill battle in trying to communicate these changes and alter behavior of its buyers.”

The Street is absolutely CLUELESS to the reality of EBAY TODAY! Regardless of what drivel the corporate headquarters is feeding the stockholders, those stockholders had better wake up soon! Ebay is personifying the Titanic and is sinking, sinking, first slowly, then more and more rapidly...

      Great article, though!

      Earnings Preview: EBay
It would appear that the intent all along has been to dessimate the eBay site as it has been known and reinvent it.

Fine and dandy. The methods employed are now, in absolutes, to what I object. Complete and utter contempt and disregard for the hand that fed the company -- the sellers-- I find absolutely deplorable, and cannot and SHOULD not be acceptible.

I won't do business with such a company. My buying power has gone elsewhere.

Wall Street doesn't get it, the bottom line is where their focus remains. The stockholders, on the other hand, I just don't get. They must condone what is transpiring; they cannot be so stupid as to be unaware of what's going on. And one has to begin to wonder what swill they are being fed and BELIEVE!

On another post, a commentor stated that it was presented some time back, suggested, that the eBay format be split. There could be eBay Classic, and eBay New, or something such. It was dismissed. To me, such a suggestion seemed brilliant, innovative! I can't help but speculate if such a plan had been implemented and structured, eBay would have experenced yet another dynamic growth explosion. A missed opportunity.

Alll such suggestions and observances are, typically, dismissed. When "Watch" was brought on board, sellers objected that this would cause the dollar value of the auctions to decline. Bidders would "watch" and wait until the last moment, to bid and snipe.

Guess what? That's exactly what happened! The monetary value of each auction began to slip!

Small examples, I know, but ebay inherently does not listen to the folks in the know, the Seller, and disregards the experience and acumen that go with them. So steadily, each transaction has been losing value.

You know, there are SO MANY INSTANCES where the Sellers have provided intelligent, knowledgable suggestions and alternative solutions to evolving issues and the ebay management has been contemptuously dismissive!

And then sputter and whine about the slipping value of transactions! They're fools!

And vicious, devious fools at that!

ebay has other fish to fry and are contemptuous of its roots. I have no respect for such a company.

      To Watching The Wheels:

By the way, your post is excellent! As always. Great clarity and well-stated.

A caste system? Hadn't thought in that mode, but you are absolutely right! Can we say Middle Ages? Now this is a company with vision! LOL!

Observances of Oprah Winfrey and Warren Buffett are also excellent.
Very excellent food for thought! Respect shown to others should be unilateral.

eBay has NO class. None whatsoever.

And it seems to me that the company is becoming regressive. Never a good sign. It is a sign of weakness and desperation.

This ranks about with ebay tucking tail and withdrawing forcing Paypal on all sellers in Australia, with the idiotic comments re to remove any confusion.

Huh? What confusion? The Aussie's weren't confused! They weren't gonna be pushed and didn't back down! How lame and moronic!

Patricia013 summed it perfectly. Loss of trust. It's gone. Never have I known such a spiteful, menial company. I have come to loath eBay. I won't go back. I've taken my purchasing power elsewhere.

Q2 Predictions for eBay Business Segments
      Patricia013

I feel you have it exactly. eBay's listing count keeps sinking. The sites you mentioned (excluding etsy for the moment) comprise now around half of ebay listings and are DAILY increasing. So, if a huge chunk of ebay listings are buy.com what is that telling us?

Now to etsy. This site is jumping up the charts! According to Alexa, the site traffic counter, ioffer ranks 3600, ecrater 8700, but etsy ranks at 1100! Just a couple months ago, a couple!, they were at 1600!

      That, folks, is phenomenol!!!

eBay and cheerleaders are living in a state of denial. It may take a year, maybe less, maybe longer, but I don't think ebay will survive.

I closed my account with them. I won't do business, now or in the future, with a company that is so LOST to integrity!!!

Because it is so BRAZEN about it!!!
