      S&P 500 Earnings Beat Rate at 72%
Lets not forget that a lot of these positive earnings surprises were over substantially reduced estimates, especially for financials. Therefore, its too early to read anythng positive into this, given that the worst culprits like MER and C have yet to report.

Gaps in Mastercard and Fluor Are Being Filled
Mark, so what is a good buy point for FLR? Do you think its better to wait for it to approach closer to the 200day MA?

Giving Mosaic a Green Thumbs Up
Michael, how about POT? It has been through around a 20% correction and has a similar long-term story. Its earnings release is coming up too.

PotashCorp and Mosaic: Get Your Orders Ready
Marketfolly, I have read this piece of yours with interest and have tracked POT and MOS since. They both looked like they have hit the buy point based on your theory and the tracked indicators.

Are you opening these positions now? Thanks

      E*Trade Primed for a Breakout
Etrade just announced a doubling of their total shares to 1.2 billion. Can the author or anyone here explain how this dilution is beneficial in any way for current shareholders?

It seems all these long ETFC arguments have some weight but still is a lot of speculation....

Sears, Target, Office Depot, Walgreen: Bargains in the Retail Basket
I agree with one of the previous posters about Sears - they are probably the WORST run major retail chain out there and I don't see how they can compete with Target or WalMart in any environment. Tongue's arguments just don't hold much water either:
      - 'Repurchased 33 million shares the past 3 years' : Yes, at prices much higher on average than today. Shows bad management of cash by the company.
      - 'Sum of the parts potentially worth a great deal more than current market cap' : And how do you conclude this? It is such a vague statement, you would think you are listening to a bad politician's press conference.
      - 'Trading at significant discount to current $100 price' : Ditto

I-Bank Execs: Read My Lips... No New Capital
Good article, Mike. You forgot to give special kudos to Dick Fuld of Lehman who invented a new explanation for his firm raising capital at the end of March: 'We didn't need the new capital but raised it to prove that we can...'

AAR Corp. Reports: Still a Strong Buy
I have read your investment thesis on AIR and it sounds very compelling. I was just wondering if the recent FAA directives to force the airlines to review their maintainence records on all their planes would benefit companies like AIR. AIR counts United and Southwest as its customers and does service 737's, so do you have a more concrete input on this possible catalyst?
