  • Liberty Media's Quest For Sirius XM Rests In Evercore's Hands [View article]
Since a majority of the minority is required for a yes or no vote, it would seem that someone like Carl Ichan should buy a 5 or 10 percent stake from the institutional investors to obtain the swing vote. That will drive the share price of Siri greatly upwards and will render the takeunder by Liberty moot. Sounds like easy money for the big boys.

  • What Successful BBM Launch Changes For BlackBerry Shareholders [View article]
Mark, I agree. The kids love BBM and those eyeballs will in turn drive the advertisers. All their friends now have one service across all the phones they use in order to communicate. Whatsap and Kik are now rendered irrelevant in their world. They are a very powerful demographic.

Twitter is being valued at $11 Billion without revenue. Wall Street must be convinced that they will monetize it to create that value. BBM can follow a similar path. Blackberry has the cash to fund BBM until an ipo. Why give this gem to anyone? It belongs to the shareholders. They could ipo it and roll it out to shareholders or keep it in Blackberry so that it's value and revenues stay within. The other gem, which is the biggest and most secure private network in the world, should also patiently be funded until it reaches critical mass. Bb does not need to go public. It has cash and it has already taken the tough right-sizing decisions. Why not operate this company as a VenCap (for its own great technologies) with a phone division?
This stock could easily be at $40/share in a year or two. $11 Billion value for BBM would do it by itself. The BOD should be patient.

BBM will be worth far more than Whatsap. The young and young adult market absolutely love
It. Anecdotly, all my kids and their friends have it. One such friend of kids boasts 76 contacts and another has 124. Our family has set up a group page and that is how we all stay in contact across bb phones and iPhones. This service will be huge! So should its potential valuation.

  • BlackBerry EPS in-line, misses on revenues [View news story]
It does not make sense that BB ( shareholders) would take the hit of the earning announcement and then sell the company cheap. The hit has been taken. Now the company should sell the inventory of phones at a discount ( and also provide cash incentives to sales staff) to build up market share. Now is the time to capture the mid and low priced device market. BB can also greatly expand BES10 and BBM revenues at the same time. This could be a great company again. The hit has happened. Only a dumb CEO and Board would sell out now. Makes no sense.
