  • Does Your Dividend Portfolio Have Room For A Wild Child? [View article]
Great perspective on DE, Tim. I posted my thoughts about Deere, looking at the classic dividend growth metrics, over here: But your article really gets to the central point that dividend growth investors need to treat cyclical stocks a little differently. I agree with you that DE has great prospects, but may be a bumpier ride than I want to sign up for!

  • Better Buy: Cisco, EMC Or IBM? [View article]
Interesting article. I'm not sure I agree with the "target p/e"s you've got there, though. I give CSCO the edge on yield alone -- I'd rather get paid a little something while nervously watching my tech holdings. My full thoughts on CSCO and its dividend over here:

  • Why I Just Bought This Dirt Cheap Tech Stock [View article]
Wouldn't it already have popped? It isn't like this is secret, hidden, or breaking news. The teardown was days ago.

  • Odyssey Marine: Do Investors Know What Lies Beneath the Surface? Part 2 [View article]
I am pretty shocked that SA would run this piece. While it is true that Meson has disclosed its short position, they are far from merely an author with some skin in the game. They have actively engaged OMEX in a serious fight and their report almost single-handedly drove OMEX's share price down by almost a third. SA should not allow its platform to be used in this manner. And to be clear, you do not need to have an opinion about the accuracy of Meson's allegations to be upset by this piece running on SA.

  • Cisco's Dividend To Explode Higher [View article]
Nice write-up. It is a pretty rosy scenario that you lay out there for Cisco. I don't necessarily disagree, but with tech stocks, best not to count your chickens before they're hatched. My full thoughts about CSCO as a dividend growth prospect over here:

  • Target: Where From Here? [View article]
I agree completely that Target is a solid long-term buy, and the recent price decline has provided a good entry point. I am less optimistic than you that moves like price-matching will drive significant new traffic. Nonetheless, they have executed well for decades and should be able to continue to improve earnings, and the dividend in years to come. It will not make you rich in the short-term, but if you are a slow-and-steady dividend growth investor, TGT has a place in your portfolio. Full rundown of Target's prospects as a dividend growth stock discussed here:

  • I Justify My Tesla Purchase With This Analogy [View article]
And TSLA's stock will do exactly what AAPL's did why again?

Don't get me wrong, I am a Tesla fan, but I need a bit more to go on for an investment than "Musk reminds me of Jobs."

  • I Justify My Tesla Purchase With This Analogy [View article]
Yeah, that is only the introduction to a potentially interesting article. Unless you demonstrate how and why AAPL is a good comparison for TSLA, there is nothing to see here. Just because one company with an aura strongly surpassed a period of overvaluation does not mean another will.

Right. Prices continue upward, so we're almost at a good entry point. (Where's the sarcasm button again?)

  • Cisco Is Trading Below Intrinsic Value [View article]
CSCO may indeed be an excellent investment (revealed here: But this article fails to convince -- a P/E may fail to properly value a company, but it is certainly not "unfair." And comparing Cisco to the likes of KO and CL to establish that Cisco's P/E is low is a bit silly. Comparing routers to soda is like comparing apples to oranges!

  • Intel Has Truly Come A Long Way [View article]
I've got no specific objections to the article -- I agree that INTC is at least moving in the right direction now. But the bottom line for me is the uncertainly. Yes, we may learn in 2014 and 2015 that they are doing well in mobile, but a year or two is a long time in the tech space, and whether Intel will be taking a leadership role in phones or mobile two years from now generally strikes me as little more than guesswork. I want to invest on a more solid foundation than that. I do hold a good deal of Intel, but I have been paring back my exposure. We're having a nice conversation about INTC over here:

  • Why Low Beta Stocks Are Like Bonds For Dividend Growth Investors [View article]
"Outperforms on down days and during periods of pullback"

And under-performs on up days and periods of increase, right? Isn't that an inherent characteristic of low beta? It is not free gain, it is just a smoother ride.
