Is Wells Fargo Regretting Its Wachovia Acquisition? [View article]
I'm sure you wish they regretted it since WFC falls onto your list of "darling" stocks. Up there with Apple I'm sure. We would hate to see them lumped with "evil giants" like Citi and, gulp, BofA. But the fact is they never would have had another opportunity to by an east coast giant for a song and a dance AND go over the 10% deposit ceiling with the governments happy approval. They are willing to eat whatever losses they have to and stick to shareholder, the public, whoever it takes to become one of the too-big-to-fail giants. Your quaint notion that deep inside WFC wants to be just the little guys friend is cute but hardly rational.
Bear Stearns Should Go for More Than $6 - Barron's [View article]
Barron's has been wrong so many times that I wouldn't take them seriously. Bear is out the door for two bucks. Anyone who bets differently is a loser. The idea that Morgan bank actually wants to pay more is nothing less than idiotic.
